The media sure fans the shit fumes. I just read an article from a reputable source that had a real jump scare headline about how the newest strain is one of the worst ever but when you read the article it's saying it's one of the worst from a transmissibility and immunity resistance standpoint but one of the best as far as causing serious illness. It's nearly become endemic like the flu. Though out this all I was so annoyed by the idiocy of people calling it the flu simply from the standpoint if it being a separate virus but now like the flu, we will now see countless new strains every year. And every now and again, one will become potentially dangerous. Most will not.

CDC? Who cares,,,if CNN or Fox or any other TV shows aren't talking about, it's not happening.

Protect yourself and at the end of the day that is all you can do and in the process help others not get sick and avoid the the political climate. Take care all.

Article about some of the complaints about a study and it being taken out of context.  It is interesting how they are careful in their wording, now freely admit being wrong about the 'vaccine' stopping transmission BUT want it to be blindly accepted that it saves lives.  All while dismissing the part about the variants being less dangerous than the original strain:

One of the authors of the study, Dr. Kilian Schober of the Institute of Microbiology in Erlangen, Germany, wrote that his work is being misunderstood by anti-vaxxers.

“Our preprint had ‘gone viral’ among some anti-vax circles, because it would supposedly show that mRNA vaccines are inducing ‘tolerance’. This view is certainly too simplistic. mRNA vaccines have saved millions of lives,” he wrote on Twitter.

Schober added that they do not “advise against a second booster” shot based on the findings.

The study itself insists: “Further investigations are needed to clarify the precise immunological mechanisms driving this response and to evaluate whether an IgG4-driven antibody response affects subsequent viral infections and booster vaccinations."

So, now he just tries to dismiss any conclusions of the study that folks take issue with by saying more studies are needed.

Then the article responds to this criticism:

…showed “The mRNA covid shots are a disaster and may be making everyone who got them more susceptible to illness.”

“If the shots actually worked, explaining why Japan, one of the most covid shotted countries in the world, is presently setting covid death records is virtually impossible,” he added.

I reached out to Dr. Pradheep J. Shanker, a radiologist who writes about health in the National Review and elsewhere, to better understand the claims being made

Shanker argued, critics are making a mistake based on the assumption that vaccines are “worthless” because they don’t eliminate the spread of Covid.

“This is partly because of misinformation from our own CDC and government agencies, who in 2021 asserted that the vaccine could stop transmission, but that assertion has now been proven false,” Shanker said. “They are confusing transmission of the virus (which the vaccine is not effective in stopping) versus reduction in mortality (for which the vaccine is effective).”

There is where this guy admits the vaccine does not stop transmission but wants to make it clear nothing else is up for debate.

Japan, it should be noted, is indeed facing a record wave of Covid deaths, with the seven-day average peaking this week at 315 (eclipsing last year’s high of 291). Shanker explained the deaths are a predictable result of a wave of infection.

They are having a wave of disease. Any time you have such a wave, you will see increase in deaths. Japan did a good job securing the country early on, so they never saw the initial waves we saw. So they have a country with a high vaccine rate (but not 100%!), and so the people that aren’t vaccinated have zero immunity. Compound that with the people that will die even with vaccinations (the vaccine isn’t 100% effective), and it explains your surge.

Japan is indeed a peculiar case. The country opened its borders to visitors in October after more than two years of a strict Covid lockdown. Now, as the country faces a surge driven in part by the wave in China, which recently relaxed its zero-Covid policy, Japan has imposed a regulation requiring visitors from China to test negative for the virus on arrival in the country.

So, now they try to adroitly sidestep the criticism of the vaccines failure in Japan, where they have a very high vaccination rate and nearly everyone wears a mask and they locked down more than nearly everyone.  Then tries to slide the blame over to China, which took similar measures as Japan did.  

The only good thing that can be said is that the lockdowns held back their being exposed as much to the more deadly original strain until better treatments could be put in place.  But, even this can be questioned because now the less deadly variants -- to everyone else -- is killing more folks there than anywhere else and at a faster rate than it did there last year.

Amazingly, they do not want any part of this agenda questioned -- even when more and more of it is proven not to be true, such as preventing transmission, etc.

No evidence vaccination increases the risk of becoming ill or deadlier virus variant.  Without vaccination, there would be far more deaths and hospitalizations.  In first 3 years of pandemic, Japan has one of the lowest covid death rates among 38 countries of Organization for cooperation and economic development.  Overall, Japan has 485 covid deaths per million population.  Whereas US has 3242 covid deaths per million according to Our world in data.  This is significant because Japan has a high proportion of elderly people who are more vulnerable.  Current covid outbreak is driven by contagious variant, easing of public health restrictions, government focus on treatment instead of prevention and natural waning of immunity over time.  Since neither infection or vaccine immunity can last forever, important to stay up-to-date on boosters. 

So, they are still getting it and dying at higher rates than anyone else and at higher rates than before they were vaccinated.  Got it.

I'm 65 and no one in my family vaccinated and will not be...We all had a flu shot but no, not a vaccine that doesn't work at all...If you see 9 so called experts pick the same side in a game do you follow or fade??? Myth is that researchers rushed the development of covid vaccines, so safety and effectiveness cannot be trusted.  There are many reasons why covid vaccines could be developed so fast.  Smart head start from studying other coronaviruses for 50 years.  Preexisting mRNA technology is faster than traditional way.  China provides genetic information early.  Plenty of international resources.  Overlapping schedule gathers data faster.  People enroll in clinical trials quickly.  No shortcuts taken in normal testing and approval process.

Got Covid in Dec 2020. Haven’t had it again since getting vaxxed in March 2021. 
Now this flu my kid brought home from school is kicking my ass, but it’s not Covid

Sidehatch is right.  Covid infection is far more likely to cause heart inflammation.   No one has died from vaccine heart inflammation in the US.  But over a million covid deaths in 3 years of pandemic.  Absurd that anti-science anti-vaxxers are more scared of vaccines than diseases.
