He's on the NFL Network and the host (hired by the NFL of course) asks him a question as if the fans are stupid enough to believe he is going to get a straight answer. Let ME interview him on national TV.
The host says that the critical fan says that the rule changes are taking the physical part out of the game.
Goodell says, "Not true." He then goes on to say that they are teaching the coaches to coach those techniques out of the game and continues with more rhetoric. They then show the play in which Cleveland's Trent Richardson (a RB) lowers his head against a Philadelphia DB and the DB's helmet goes flying. They show this play four times in the span of about 10 seconds.
So now, with the new rule changes, a RB, or ANYBODY for that matter, cannot lower his head three yards downfield and use the "crown of the helmet".
So now I guess it's "illegal" for a player to lower his head. This league is fücked. I'm not even gonna watch this travesty this fall. They have ruined the game.
Congratulations Goodell. Get out the flags. It's officially the National Flag League.
