This is the first time I'm hearing of this. I don't think it will ever happen, but if it did the Democrats would never win a presidential election again.

The NJ/NYC is run but Democrats and have put our area under water financially, but from what I understand, Cali is on a completely different level.
We have poor and working-class, blue-collar Democrats over here. From what I hear and read, you guys have the "holier-than-thou", Elitist, "my sh!t doesn't stink" wealthy types over there.
I still would like to visit though. Never been.

Search, you commute all over Cali like I do, this may be off topic a little bit, but I was just thinking this the other day. I've lived in SoCal my whole life, and I've NEVER seen a Hispanic or Asian (Indian/Asian too) straight up begging for money. It's always White or Black, man or woman. Maybe it's a cultural pride thing? O.K., back to our regularly scheduled topic.
For those outside of California who think the whole state is full of whiny liberals, I'd invite you to take a drive along the coastline from North Orange County all the way to San Diego. Hit up a bar and talk politics in Huntington Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Dana Point, etc. If you're thing is to "Make America Great Again", you'll feel right at home.....

closest I ever came to living there in Cali would be My Great Great Great Grandfather went there to mine gold in 1853-1859. family uncovered his Diary as he kept a journal in Colu California gold fields.
same problems then as now water ,
water script was bought sold and traded as water was needed to wash gold. The large dams would break making a water shortage and reconstruction costs would push water scripts higher than face value. Had he staid and moved his family there I be born in California he sold his interests there and returned here to Maine.
He sent money via western union pony express kind of cool they wire the twenty dollar gold piece and send the coin the bank here would give credit to his wife and when the coin arrived clear the debt.

To expand on this topic a but further , it's not just CA, but the other big Coastal Cities in the Northeast are awful politically, too, (NY, NJ, Vermont (go home Bernie), Boston, etc.)
This is really a bifurcated country ; unfortunately those that are doing better than average (i.e. living in the Coastal Cities) have a leftist agenda that is damaging to the overall good of the country. Thank goodness for our folks in the interior of the Country that pull us back to the mean. A special thanks especially to folks living in WI, MI, PA, NC. Trump won because of their efforts, and pushed-back on the liberal agenda.
The best thing to come out of these 4 years for Trump just may be his 2-3 Supreme Court Nominees !!
The Constitution should reign Supreme.
