By being a famous Olympian undergoing the difficulties of sex change, Jenner is indirectly promoting acceptance of transgender community. Trans prejudice, homophobia, racism and sexism are becoming increasingly unacceptable in modern society.
However I agree that Jenner is a controversial winner of courage award. More deserving recipient seems to be the dying girl who fulfilled her dream of college basketball and raised money for cancer research.
