Best way to set up a fund for a family?

besides gofundme because neither I, nor any of the family members have a facebook. They do not know I am doing this for them, and they would not want me to use their pictures. But long story short, the mother who was working in the healthcare field could not work anymore as she had diabetes and other health complications which took a toll on her strength to perform daily tasks. So, the father who works a 10$ an hour job supports the family which includes a daughter (19 yrs old) and son (13 yrs old) who is in school. I want to set up a goal of 1000$ USD. If anyone knows a site like gofund but does not require the facebook info please let me know. thank you!

You will be very hard pressed to fund an account without some degree of verification which is what Facebook does. Few if any will donate to an anonymous recipient. Remember that donations are temporary and not the best course of action. The mother needs to apply for disability and any other federal aid which she may eligible for. Many lawyers will offer guidance free of charge.

This saddened me reading it because I made $10 an hour when I was in my undergrad days. This barely got me to pay rent and have any money to pay for food and any leftover tuition which I had owed each semester. I could only imagine a father having to divy up the paycheck to support his family on this kind of money. As getty says, assist them in applying for all forms of medicare, social security, food stamps etc. (people at any age are eligible for medicare/SS once they become disabled ) Best case would be for them to now decide to setup a facebook account with their real names no matter how generic it looks at the moment to establish credibility. Once you set up a fund let me know and I would happy to donate

they do not live in America.. they actually live in the UK..

another part of the reason she cant work is because they came to the UK from a third world country. She came on a work visa.. but it expired and now they are in the process of becoming legal citizens but the paperwork is pending and their "home office" which is where all passport/citizenship related things are handled, they have her and the whole families passports and ID so she cant work without that. So, their family technically cannot apply for aid now as they dont have the required documents for that. Its been nearly two years since the home office has had their documents, they tell me how they cant wait to just live normal again. The government can send the family back to where they came from, but since the son has lived more than half of his life (7 years in the UK) they have a better chance of getting approved to be legal to stay in the UK. The lawyer and court fees are real high for just the father to take care of. 1000$ is temporary but would be enough to take care of lawyer fees etc.

Im still in college so I am going to try to give the most I can. Thanks to our great country im lucky I did not have this problem, but to see this happen to a very close family friend kills me.

and the thing is, even if I tell them to make a facebook account. they are real "embarassed" of this whole situation so they do not want to tell anyone. I understand where they are coming from because before the mother lost her job and got sick, they were living fine. But for the last two years its been real real hard. They moved houses about 4 times in the last two years and share a house with another family. I got a part time job recently because I truly want to help them out. let me know if you guys can think of any other way. Please and thanks to all my covers brothers and sisters.

yea, I commend you for going out of your way to help a family friend. Can i ask how this family became friends if they were previously living in a 3rd world country and then proceeded to move to UK? (Especially since you live in the U.S.) Seems that would be a very tough feat to accomplish living in the U.S.

well my parents migrated to the U.S from the same country the parents migrated from. they were friends before they moved to UK and before my parents moved to the States.
