As early as next season there will be 2 wild cards teams from each league. If that would have been in effect this year, the last night of the season, which was probably the most dramatic and exciting night in regular season history, would have only just decided which of the teams got the home field for the 1-game wild card playoff.

I liked it better when only two teams played in the post season...the overall best in the national league against the overall best in the american league. 
I just hate when a wild card wins the world series, it's because when you look at their final record they do not have the best overall record for the entire season and the one and only time it would be acceptable to me if say for example overall the american league pennant winner doesn't have a better record than the national league pennant winner but they end up winning the world series and vice versa.
Just let the best two teams play in the world series...period!!
But yes I know, it's because of revenue so they will never go back to how it originally was.
