Another thing about gun control-

Question

Look, I am against guns but gun control, simply will not work. This is the worst case of political stupidity I think I have ever seen. Our leader, is so terribly mislead on this subject. There are 10 billion guns on the streets of our country today, what are we going to do remove them all?I think people are better off without guns, make no mistake but that is the not the point of this post. The point of this post is, gun control will not work and it is a waste of time and energy. I am more than horrified and aghast about what happened in Connecticut but what is worse is to see this response.  You cannot govern personal choice. You can put your money into mental health, education and other avenues to help people make better decisions.What really set me off though was the president ( no capital letter on purpose) using this for political ploy. Invoking the names of the school children to further his budget ( we now know what is important  prez  says) and to pass this regulation.Putrid. Yuck.  We are doomed.  In the end, I think we have a total void of real leadership in this country, both parties, from the top on down.

I do not know what I was expecting but the NRA's response makes me sick too.

To get up here and say the schools are to blame is terrible. The idea that the schools are vulnerable and so it is their fault is the most ridiculous idea I have ever heard. Then to blame the culture and video games. Fu ck them too. The worst part is the fuckers do not even take questions at the end.

Abysmal.

The demonstrators were the best though.

This is reasonable. That would cost at least, 5 billion dollars/ year I think the NRA should be the leaders in this revolution and offer to pay the cost.

And the first time the armed policeman goes off and kills 20 kids..........

How could we expect NRA to blame themselves, CD? They surely will blame media, school security loopholes, video games and other things, except for themselves.  Assault rifles are for combat field, what would anyone possess an AK-47 for, except he/she is expecting to assault an enemy in battle field. Also, i would wonder if any member of the NRA would agree with the ban of assault firearms if one of their kid was killed in the Connecticut school massacre.

They are very tightly regulated by the ATF and if the ATF does give a person the green light to get one they can expect to pay at least $10,000 for one.&#xD;&#xA;In fact, I can&#x2019;t recall a single incident in the past decade of a civilian legally owned assault rifle being used in a violent crime.

SS, According to FBI statistics as I&#x27;m sure you know, over 13,000 gun homocides last yearin the US, long guns were responsible for 390 of them (excluding shotguns). Break it down even further to assault rifles and I&#x27;m guessing it&#x27;s less than a handful (full auto is probably zero).&#xD;&#xA;The 10,000 I assume you are refering to a full auto? I think it also requires a class C license which is hardcore to get hold of and takes over a year. Rich Wyatt at Gunsmoke doesn&#x27;t even have one of those.

He owns a full auto Thompson.  IIRC, it cost him $12,000.  Of course he bought it a while back so that&#x2019;s probably doubled by now. &#xD;&#xA;Capable of firing 100 rounds of 45 ACP in about 8 seconds that thing is an absolute beast.

Here in Canada the govt proposed, enacted and put forth a &#x27;gun registry&#x27;. This p.o.s of legislation was a complete disaster. It was simply a nuisance to the responsible gun owners such as farmers and hunters. Oh, and it cost about a billion dollars from its inception in 1993. I don&#x27;t know anybody that has a class 3 - not one person. Good clean fun if you do.&#xD;&#xA;Thomspon is a hell of a gun up close. Called &#xE9;m trench sweepers in WWII as u know. .45 lead salad with croutons.&#xD;&#xA;The only ban that Washington should be discussing regarding firearms is forbiding gun ranges to make me buy THEIR phuking ammo when I shoot.
