Sports betting legalized... thoughts?

What are everyones thoughts on the legalization of sports betting? Where do you think the industry is going with this? Whats the next step?

Great call by the SC. I should be able to go to the local otb in Illinois to make bets on football in the fall. Good time to be a bookie. Bettors will need credit after most of them tap out and want to chase.

This all depends on how greedy the states get. If they make it costlier to place a bet than what Vegas presently does then the serious bettors will stay with their bookies or online. The casual bettor will go all in hook line and sinker

all the "free" info you are getting from the pro sports sites.  NFL.com NBA.com and so on.  These will be pay sites to capitalize on your freedom to bet. 

I am also certain other sites that help you get info will follow and not be free anymore.   It will take time for some of this to evolve, but this is capitalism and they are going to find a way to get your money.

Both NJ government and businesses are stupid and lazy.  It’s PITA to drive from NYC to Monmouth Park and public transportation route is horrendous.  Borgata lied that they will accept bets as soon as government allows them to but that won’t happen so fuck NJ.

So they decided to start at 11 AM which is when the opening match of World Cup starts.  Idiots.  Anyone know whether there will be in-game betting?
