F1 - Chinese Grand Prix from Shanghai

The Brawn GP's should dominate again until Ferrari and Mclaren have time to develop a sufficient diffuser package following this weeks court ruling. Qualifying goes tonight after the Nationwide race and Canucks game. Race goes tomorrow after Cup. What a weekend.

as you know, i like vettel, but webber tends to qualify well, and rarely backs it up on race day.  agreed on button, no reason to think brawn won't grab the pole again.

 

will be curious to hear the weather forecast for race day, during practice they mentioned possible showers on sunday.

 

mclaren had a diffuser during practice last night, not sure how much tinkering they will be able to on it for this race.

 

They have a package but give them a month to develop it properly. Ferrari and Renault are deer in headlights still.

vettel was close . . . good call on your part . . . vettel takes just a single lap and takes pole . . . when do fuel loads get published ?

 

damn, should have took vettel when the price was low . . . for as much as alonso bitched before this qualifying, he did run well at the end of last season. . . i will take webber's counterpart for matchup wagering . . .

interesting news from red bull . . .

"You don't need more, but it was not easy," Vettel said. "We had a problem with the car, we tried to run as little as possible.

"I hope the boys can fix it. I hope both our cars are up to it tomorrow."

this was in reference to a drive shaft issue. . . . i'm thinking vettel has the idiot moves out of his system, so i like the vettel heads up vs webber . . . but this mechanical thing is a bit worrisome . . . i'm leaning alonso to win, and maybe even hamilton at these prices.  he had no diffuser in austrailia and clawed through the pack pretty well.  alonso is light on fuel though, he might be pulling that same crap he pulled last year in spain, or he could be starting light to get rid of the super softs in the first stint, he was really bitching about those.   both brawns are heaviest among the top qualifiers . . . hmmm.  also, both Ferraris are very heavy . . . massa is 53 kg more than alonso.

apparently, the weather forecast on the F1 site is very wrong . . . they shall race in the rain today.

 

interesting to here the fin say the championship is already lost for Ferrari.

hamilton and barichello have a good track record in the rain . . . vettel won in italy last year in the rain, but red bull has drive shaft issues this week, and vettel has been uncanny at making bad mistakes at bad times this season.

 

i'm playing barichello over button and vettel . . . and hamilton to win at +1500
