Nothing wrong with the sauce, it's basically crushed tomatoes but hard to provide a healthy pizza dough. It's basically processed flour which is about the worst thing to eat. The whole wheat doughs probably a little better but I would just think of something else other than pizza.

If you are concerned about sodium, then at least stay away from the frozen pizzas. The frozen ones are loaded with sodium.
I'm pretty good with eating and cook most of it here and I'm always over the suggested sodium levels and eat practically every thing fresh. Throw fast food in there, and it's impossible.

sodium = . I spend a lot of time telling people about the dangers of sodium.
If you are worried then you should always
- read the sodium content of things you buy at the store. And remember to take servings per ... into account. 300 mg of sodium may not sound like much but if taht is per serving and there are three servings then it adds up.
- Avoid frozen foods
- with your pizza try to eat as many fresh veggies as possible.
- avoid pepperoni and sausage with your pizza as they are high in salts.
- fresh tomatoes, red peppers, onion, eggplant, sdun dried tomato etc... actually make for a good pizza IMO.
- if you want to make a fresh sauce (or have the will / time) it is not too hard. Simply blend together some tomatoes, olive oil, fresh garlic, and oreagno and there you go.
- another sauce alternative that I like is basil pesto. You can make this easily but can also find it in jars at the store (not too much sodium). Just spread a layer of it on a dough, and then add some mozzerella, and then some veggies and toss in the oven for a while.
- I sometimes make this style of pizza at home using tortillas. Tortillas are not the most healthy thing out there but are an improvement over most pizza doughs. Spread on some sauce (either pesto or red) and then add some cheese and then some veggies and put in the oven at ~400 for about 7 minutes (the time is approximate).

if you want some meat than buy some turkey from the deli section (Boars Head the only way to go). The actual stuff that they slice at the counter for you and not the pre-packaged stuff as that has more sodium. Simply slice some up and then toss on your pizza.

Speaking of lunch meat........ my new little web based calorie counter tracks all that shit. Typed in two slices of deli turkey meat. They didn't have Boar's Head in the database so I clicked on Oscar Meyer or something..... Guess what... HALF a day's worth of sodium in two slices of turkey meat ... and half day worth of cholesterol.
Mattbrot, have you tried these online nutritional things? Two weeks logging in your food and you will be ... I'm on nutrimirror dot com which is decent. It's free and tracks everything. It will amaze you.
