Start time problems

Usually when you have a doubleheader you would want the most attractive matchup to be your late game. So what has gone into the decisions to have France - Argentina, Spain - Russia and now Brazil - Mexico start the early game? Which means a 10 AM East Coast start and a 7 AM West Coast. Kills ratings on both ends. The only time they have a marque matchup in the late slot is England - Columbia. Who is coming up with slotting?

Kill ratings? Ratings for what? The U.S? LOL One of the many countries that watches the World Cup? Don’t think the World Cup is tailored to us Americans...

The schedule in regards to start times is made based on the venues where the fans and stadium actually ARE LOCATED. You know, if you're paying attention and it seems that perhaps you are not, that's Russia bro.Usually when you have a doubleheader you would want the most attractive matchup to be your late game. Imagine the World Cup in the US and the final in Giants Stadium starts on a Sunday @ 2AM? This so that the fans in Asia have a decent start time for home viewing.
Ridiculous right? Just like your post.
The WC schedule was made around January and at that point the knock out stage and later is not known - how could it be? - yet they already know the winner of Group B is going to face the runner up of Group A Sun July 1st @ 5:00PM in Moscow (a good time to start a game 5PM on a Sunday, right?). It just so happened to be Spain and Russia but that match could easily have been Iran and Russia and the later match (9:00PM in Nizhny Nofgorod) could have been Argentina vs France instead of Denmark vs Croatia.
It just so happens the juicier matchup was the early game today and tomorrow.
Fans of the sport here, in Colombia (it's a country in South America - learn how to spell it if you want to be taken seriously as a World Soccer fan) in central time will be at the bars before 9AM to see Mexico vs Brazil on a work day, tomorrow.
Just think about one thing - there are more people watching the 42 measly WC group stage matches then all the spectators for every NFL game for the whole season, 256 games combined.
In 2014 (the last world cup) there were over a billion viewers for the final game. The 2014 NFL Superbowl (which set records for viewers) was 111 million.
Just move to the country hosting the world cup and you'll get great start times for all the matches (that means moving out of the USA - even if only temporarily).
Just tryin' to help bro.
The pen is mightier than the pigs

World cup is not designed for US and US has one of the least viewership for soccer.
So wake up early if you to watch the games than complaining about the schedule.
