Hey Covers...trying to add a friend on here & getting an error page..help please

Hey Covers,

I'm trying to add a friend on here & I"m getting this page once I try...could someone look into this please? or better yet someone asked me to PM them..& they're not a friend of mine...where do I go to add them as a friend?..this is what I'm seeing...Green

Hello,

Can you send the URL to the page you are receiving that error on?

To add a friend, you will need to go to their profile first. You can either do that by clicking on their username within a forum thread or enterting the username directly into the URL, for example:

https://www.covers.com/profiles/greeneyeddevils

From there, click on Private Message, and then Add as Friend, and Save. 

Please let us know if that still doesn't work for you.

problem solved...it's working now...I had to change my settings to accept messages from "non-friends"

Hey Covers,

I was able to send the person a PM when I changed my settings..but once i clicked send private message I didn't see anywhere to add them as a friend & save it...all I see at the top of the page is 

Inbox..Save Box..Sent Items..Trash..Pending Friends..Friends..Settings & Help..

Am I missing something??

Hello,

They must have their settings set to receive messages from non-friends as well. After the message was sent, do they appear in your Friends list when you click that tab?

No I just checked..they're not there...should I tell the person to check his account settings too?

Hello,

For the time being, tell the user to check off the box to receive private messages only from my Covers friends list. Then try sending another PM. It should then prompt you to add them as a friend first. 

This is a function that we will look at improving in the future.

ok..wouldn't just be easier in your inbox if there was a box at the top where it would just say "add friend" when a person sends you a PM you can just click & confirm the friend that way if you want to or you just can ignore like we used to do before if we didn't want to add a person
