Good SEC East matchup to start the season.  Let’s start with South Carolina.  Coming off their best season under Spurrier with 11 wins and that was with the huge QB controversy.  Stephen Garcia made it difficult for the offense to fully click through his unprofessionalism as a player.  The reason behind South Carolina success last year can be summed up by there defense and Lattimore when he was healthy.  Ranked as the number #1 RB and the heavy Heisman trophy favorite candidate, Lattimore returns with a squad that has vastly improved their air attack.  Connor Shaw has shown he’s capable of handling an SEC offense and with the addition of Shaq Roland to the squad and the return of Ace Sanders this will only make it easier for the run game on Lattimore.  South Carolina also returns a solid defensive squad and should be top 10 when all said in done.

Vanderbilt on the other side should be improved.  Jordan Rodgers the brother of the world renowned Aaron; took over a Vandy team as QB last year and showed why he has the starting job this year.  He’s quick on his feet and has a strong arm and Vandy hopes there will be great connection between him and Jordan Matthews Jr. who will be there main target.  Vandy does hinge a lot on Zac Stacey (RB) and he should have a great senior season.  Although Vandy has improved on paper offensively, its defense in the SEC that wins games and Vandy has nothing to write home about. 

Vanderbilt fans will be rowdy and there home team should have a decent 7-8 win season but tonight won’t be one of those wins.  Lattimore and Shaw will be very efficient against Vandy defense and start the season with a good road win.  The commodores offensive will be stagnant at times in both the run and pass tonight.

South Carolina  27; Vanderbilt 17

Early in the season it comes down to who has the athletes. I'm going with the S.C. defense and the fact that they will be bigger and faster.

Almost 70% of the public on SC and the line has fallen from 7 to 6 in the last two days?  That's all I need to know.

I got to look at this one more......something smells here??  You would think that SC rolls......Vandy might have most of it's offense back this year.......not ready to take a side yet.  

 I agree!!  Something doesnt feel right about this game.  Gonna pick another spot tonight.
