Virginia Tech has underachieved so far this year with losses to Pitt and Cincinatti. If you read anything about this matchup you're guaranteed to see that UNC's defense hasn't allowed a touchdown at home and also hasn't allowed any in their last 10 quarters. That's really great except for the fact that their home opponents have been Elon, East Carolina and Idaho. Hardly quality opponents. UNC also lost to a miserable Wake Forest team. UNC's best performance came in the second half of the Louisville game where they outscored the Cardinals 27-3. I submit that that result was based less on UNC's offensive potentcy than it was Louisville's lack of focus after leading 36-7 at half.
Let's also not lose in this that Virginia Tech has owned the ACC for the last decade. They didn't win last year and they probably won't win this year but they'll certainly be in the mix to vie for the championship of the weakest power 6 conference. Whether you like them or not, Virginia Tech is in a different class than UNC and will beat them even in a down year. Tack on 4.5 points and this amounts to my week 6 big play.

I agree there is good value in VT. While they've looked terrible the fact of the matter is they have a habit of losing a bad game or two early (JMU and ECU come to mind) and then turning it on for ACC play.
