Might want to consider Arizona State covering against Washington, because it is going to happen. QB Manny Wilkins from ASU and his receiving crew which might be the best in Division 1 are going to have a good day, and keep the game close. ASU is +17.5 as of this posting.

wmi, I have nothing against him personally, but I noticed ever since he came at me about my friend Boom, who is my friend, he seems to always want to get involved in other members conflicts that does not involve him, so now I point it out to him whenever I see him doing it, hoping he finally gets it, but I doubt it. By the way, my favorite College Football Team, other than those covering my spreads is going to cover against Georgia Tech! cool

I wouldn’t include either in udmlp unless it’s for chump change, I’d be looking at TD dogs for that (I don’t bet those but if I did), a super long shot may be Nebraska if Martinez is a go, does Michigan really scare anyone with that vanilla game plan every single week?

Cool. Always small change on the UDMLPs. Ive hit quite a few in my day.....love the challenge!

I'm back to wondering about the Hoos. My approach says to take UVA at -5 but I still don't have a good feel for this year's Hoo team. I know Loserville is bad, but is UVA consistent enough to get a TD win or more at home?

    Awesome

WahooS, you and I must have been posting right around the same time this morning.  I started my response before I saw your post #179.  And yes, there's certainly a few of us that have been known to grab a strong opening line play or two.

As you pointed out, you make it a point to tell the forum what you would play it up to as well as what # you're locked in at.  Love it.  And you're much nicer than me in that regard.  I'll answer questions if people ask and if I have time to respond, but that's about it.  Like Train was saying elsewhere in this thread; life changes when you have a young family.  My kids are 8, 6, & 4.  Trying to find balance (or more than 5 hours of sleep) in life is tough right now.  Skin is thick enough and getting thicker by the day it seems in this world.  I've never been one to really give a Fck what others think.  And I literally don't have time to worry about it or react even if I initially wanted to.  Life is too short to worry about what internet troll idiots think.  Delete.  Ignore.  Whatever works best.  As far as posting plays at the lines one actually gets.  That's the best I can do.  Just list what I have.  Some better/some worse than the current line; usually most are better.  Trying to grade out plays at a line that I don't have is just extra work that I don't have time for with the volume of plays that I typically make.  The point is, I'm listing what side I'm on and roughly how confident.  If the reader wants to take the time to research actual wins/losses vs. closing line wins/losses on the same play to determine if it's worth it for them to make a play, then that might be a good activity for them..... since there are many out there that don't want to learn or attempt to cap on their own anyway.

Sorry for the slight rant.  My vehicle was rear-ended pretty bad tonight on the way home and is totaled.  No major injuries, just in a rare state of mind somewhere between general pissed-offedness (is that a word?) and knowing I have zero control over certain things.

Anyway, please keep doing what you're doing being back in the forum and posting.  Always a good read.

Anyway, please keep doing what you're doing being back in the forum and posting.  Always a good read.

Penn State will cover the big number. Penn State has possibly the best defensive line/pass rush in the Big 10, so they are going to stop the Illini in there tracks, and with the defensive backfield for Illinois being weak, and not being able to defend the pass, QB Trace McSorley for Penn State is going to have a field day. The only offensive for Illinois has to come from running the ball, but what happens when the Nittany Lions get up early in the game by 14 or 21 points or more???, and Illinois has to go to a passing game that is non existent to begin with, and then they have an offensive line that is last in the Big 10 Conference in allowing sacks, and tackles for losses allowed going against the top defensive line in the Conference. I just do not see Illinois scoring more than 10 points, and I do see Penn State putting up 40 or better.

Best of luck to you, as it is a no play for me .... but I obviously would lean to Penn State covering.

You are correct, but what I look most at in my handicapping is the matchups, passing yards verses passing yards allowed between the two teams, rushing yards allowed by the defensive, verses running yards gained per carry by the offensive against similar teams, how the lines on offensive and defensive match up against there opponents, how have they compared against similar teams. In this particular game, I just do not see how Illinois is going to cover even the large spread if they get behind early, and have to rely on there horrible passing game, as the pass rush for Penn State can be devastating.

Love your thread it’s a great read, thx for posting. One game I haven’t seen you mention in here that I’d be curious to get your opinion on is LSU-la tech. I see this being a minimal effort game out of LSU after emotional win last week, prob similar to what they did with se la which was really ugly offensive box score given the opponent. Haven’t watched la tech this year but they were bowl winner who had some real playmakers and they have most of their offensive production back. They’ll be jacked up for this in-state matchup but I don’t think Ed will have his guys in the same mindset. But sometimes even with all that, talent is talent, and the superior team still dominates even if not playing at top level. But as long as they don’t get blown off line of scrimmage, and that’s a big supposition, I think la tech can be competitive into the 4th qtr. Thoughts?

I will share my take on it, and the biggest factor in the game is again as I mentioned in my posts on the Penn State/Illinois game is going to be the line play, the defensive line of LSU is terrific, where as the offensive line of L-Tech is weak when it comes to pass protection, so how is L-Tech going to score, as the QB is going to be running for his life the entire game, and the L-Tech rushing game stands zero chance of moving the ball against the defensive front of LSU. On the other side of the ball, LSU also has a very strong offensive line and will run the ball against a strength of L-Tech,  there defensive line, but the defensive line is going to wear down from the pounding they are going to take from the offensive line of LSU. The question is, will they cover the 21 point spread. My intuition tells me it will be close, but if I was forced to take a side I would probably take L-Tech and the +21. There are much much better games to play than this one.

Good luck to you whatever way you choose to go!

I gotcha good luck.  I could make other cases for look ahead games but we just gamble differently.  Illinois is on my card but its just a normal size wager.  Am I excited about it?  Not really, I am excited for  Penn State vs. Ohio State next week

I've been a long time reader of the forum and appreciate the insight you guys give each and every week. I am curious to know you thoughts on the Notre Dame/Wake Forest game. I am leaning heavily towards the Irish. I know it is an early kick away from home and they have Stanford on deck but I feel the Vandy game may have served as a wake up call for these guys which will prevent them from overlooking a decent Wake Forest team.

The Wake offense has been racking up major yardage this year but struggles in the red zone. I think ND shuts down their run game and forces the freshman quarterback to beat them.

Notre Dame has struggled on offense but I look for them to have a big day and win this one by 17 or so. This is a must win for them because they will probably lose their next two.

TTU +15 (gut feel they shock pokes, I know, it’s insane)
VA TECH - 27 (blow city here, line just dropped) 51-17 large beating
UGA -13 Lunch money, -14 slight raise juice normal, like under 16
BC -6.5 (Purdue sux, if coach A blows this I’m done)
OHIO U +8 (cincy gets close one)
UCF -13 (hook for low, think they pull away)

I bet Texas St +10.5 open large & just bet utsa for more than half @ 7 so it’s a middle try, not recommended since you can’t repeat this, forum police we won’t count it if it wins, it’s info not record

Ucf lucky, won’t count for here but congrats if you had them , wasn’t around last night for confirmation

Oreg St  (I bought hook to 7 but like them at over 4)
Buff (6 & prefer under TD , Rutgers will fight but I gotta pay for it)
Navy (6 but know it’s a sucker, smu by 17, fml)
    EMich (13 & that’s what I needed , long wait)
    NIlly (10.5, can’t believe I’m doing it)
VaTech over 40 (I think they score a lot)
Iowa St first half (Akron stayed in Ohio after huge win)
Nebraska first half (call me a sucker)

IF you fade or follow, it’s your choice & I don’t have to nor owe you anything so don’t give me props & don’t be a bittch
