What needs to be said about South Florida that probably hasn't been said?  Nothing.  USF absolutely annihilated Tennessee martin as they should have.  Wracking up 520 total yards of offense and that was with their starters benched before halftime.  300 yards passing 220 yards rushing was brutal.  What made it more impressive was the defense.  97 total yards allowed, 6 first downs.
 
Central Florida used a very one dimensional attack in their vanilla lack luster 17-0 victory over South Carolina State  228 of the 318 yards were on the ground.  UCF's defense held SC State to just 126 total yards of offense and 5 first downs.
 
South Florida is in a whole diffrent class that SC State.  I look for USF to shut down UCF's running game with a strong defense and for Matt Grothe and company to pick apart the UCF defense like a hot knife thru butter.  Look for a near repeat of last week

Ramsfan- While i agree with your pick on the Ole Miss/Wake forest game.  Ill have to say Jevan Sneed was far from efficient  with a 45% comp. percentage ill have to say he was def. not efficient. GL to you this week

Efficient was not a good choice of words, servicable would be more like it.

Nos-Norman is a tough place to play in, had an uncle take me to a game there years ago and those fans are freaking nuts.  Loud and make it very difficult for opposing teams.  This is Cincy's first trip to Norman and I thing the get a BIIIG  wlcome to Norman kiss from the Sooners.

Dont sleep on my Houston Cougars.  This is their best defense in decades, fielding seniors @ key positions suchs as DE, LB, and safety.  UH is use to playing in hostile environments playing @ Oregon & Bama last yr.  I dont think OSU scores 42 pts on us and  we have the weapons on offense to score more than 21.  Also, Sumlin is very familiar w/ Okie St as being O-coordinator @ OU.  I got UH+17 on my bookies website. I like it, not love.
 
Do love Rice+3 @ memphis, however.

Rice with the points does look very good.  I watched their game last week and their QB/WR Combination of Clement and Dillard is awesome.

Do you really think all these favorites will cover?? I agree with all of your picks except ECU. Villanova is not a good barometer to measure W. Va.'s strength. Huge Huge gap between Villanova and ECU. You mention how WV beat ECU last year. That game was over in the first 8 miuntes as ECU turnovers led to a 21-0 lead at WVU and ECU could not recover. WVU has a very vulnerable defense. The juggernaut Villanova had over 280 yards and 28 points. No way should WVU allow Villanova to put up 28, inexcusable. This game is at ECU they have confidence after beating a decent VT team and Skip Holtz will have these guys ready to play. He does very good with the talent he has and uses it accordingly.  ECU will move the ball and put points up against WVU. I will take the 8 1/2 and look for a very close game and ECU to win the game outright. gl

Don't see ECU winning back to back underdog games.   To much Pat White and the Defense will not under estimate ECU.  ECU beating VA Tech, only made WVU take more notice.  ECU will need more than three offensive TD's.  A Decent VA Tech team?  2 offensive TD's  243 total yards of offense and 12 first downs.  You call that decent?  Must have watched a completely different game than I did, because VA Tech looked like shit in the one I watched.

Early in the 4th after they built a 4807 lead the starters on both sides game back.  14 points for nova in Garbage time I guess makes them all that and drops #8 ranked WVU to a loose outright to ECU status?

Solid write ups ramsfan. Agree with most of your leans, especially OK St. They will be undervalued for a few weeks and I'm gonna pound em.Will be laying off SC as the QB situation has me suspicious, and I think the look ahead game to UGA could factor in as well. I'm seeing a 24-13 SC victory tho

I love Texas to dismantle UTEP Saturday night, your thoughts?

Savage-  The look ahead is always a possibility. However Vandy started SC's slide last year and I think the revenge factor and the SC Defense will be to much for Vandy.  Smelley is the starting QB and what a lot o ffpeople fail to remeber is he started 6 games last year.  He looked good in the 4th of last week and the team seemed to get behind him.

jmw I went to Ole Miss from 2001-2003, still have friends in the area and they said the same thing about the "Wild Rebel".  Said it is some crazy shit coming out of that formation.  Oxford hasn't been this excited since Eli left.  I know they have a new coach in Nutt, but Ole Miss struggles on the road early in the season.  I think Wake covers, but it will be a fight.
