    Ball State vs. Kent

    Leaning Kent.

Woody Barrett was an Auburn recruit for Pete's sake, how could he not stack some decent numbers and beat a really bad Ball State team?

Or is Woody just and over hyped HS QB, and he belonged at KSU from the get go?

Late in the day, but if youc ould provide your two cents.

    Thanks WahooS

Indeed, got up around 44.5% one year but it was an anomaly You headed to BR this weekend?

    haha, fair enough

I am not,  First time ever I could not get room at campus/team hotel, or at least not be sure I'd have one.  I'm too old and bitter to deal with things like traffic and people.  i also expect it to be a rout, and I'm already 1-7 all-time against the Tide at home.  That kind of feels like enough.  I might actually drive down to Charlottesville for Pitt game, but we'll lose if I do.  We may well lose anyway, but my attendance would guarantee it.  I believe there are exactly zero members of my regular tailgate headed to UVA, so that doesn't sound like tons of fun.

So let's be serious about this ND crap.  If they get in you can toss this playoff crap out the window.  get in undefeated and what play Bama and be a 27 point underdog????  The committee has to snub them this year so the arrogant pr!cks have to join a freaking conference.  How can they reward a team for sitting idle while EVERYONE else in the country  who is a contender for the playoff play against one another? It's total crap.  Congrats to ND for running through their garbage azz schedule.  You see who there SEC team was this year... and they barely beat them, barely beat ball st, the list goes on and on.  I really think they will lose this week and this whole post will be for nothing, but hope their overrated a$$es go undefeated and get snubbed as they should.  end rant.

I really think they will lose this week and this whole post will be for nothing, but hope their overrated a$$es go undefeated and get snubbed as they should.  end rant.

ND goes undefeated and they are in. Fair or not. All these other teams had their chances

Hello mr hoo and the crew,

Still on vacation, just completed 2nd stop in Greece. 1 more then Croatia and land in Venice. They are getting blasted by a storm so may have to take alt route. But a well deserved good time nun the less.

I don’t usually offer selections but wanted your perspective on a couple. I like teams that cover vs teams that don’t and this is what I have so far...

FIU over da Owls. Previously stated Lane is chump and he seems more concerned over media rats and tanking point spreads than winning games. 1-7 ats. I believe he had something building, last year solid but his antics has created doubt and has now lost the team. A few weeks ago there was an incident in the parking lot that has ended tailgating and alcohol so losing the student body as well. Good for my pizza shop but not attendance. An away game but still close enough.

UAB had a sluggish effort but still got the cover last week, when comparing the bodies of work vs similar teams I think they can handle UTSA?

GEO SO over LaMon, GS’s D seems legit, turnovers baby and LaMon’s D looks to be thinned out, do they have anymore safties?

CINCI over the MidSHippers? The run d numbers may be skewed cuz of last couple but don’t they know Navy gonna run?? This one not as much as the others ???

    Your opinions please.

I am a super teaser kinda guy so please keep that in mind. I opened 4 with the Miami Oh so thank you for that

Would any of these make your card?

Hey wahoo.... im on Wyoming -14 and total under 41... i'm considering another launch at -13.5, bigger so just wanted to check if you looked at it / heard anything....

    main considerations:

Wind is projected 20-25mph so both teams likely very limited passing...  SJSU pass / pass D only decent units, run and run D really not good... Spartans almost look inept without 250+ passing and 3ypc rushing... see 3 points vs army, 0 vs wash st when that doesn't happen....

Wyoming resurgence seems to be after switching QB 's in UTS game ... Chambers didn't pass much but hit 65% / 70% in those and 2TD's 0int's last game... but also 100+ rushing vs UTS and CO.St... SJSU QB's are strictly pass only... only pass option is probably the TE who is their main target .... otherwise a rush game seems to heavily fav to Wyoming Nico hitting 6.5/carry and a QB run threat...

SJSU off only win of the year .. heard the presser and sounds like they won the superbowl.. coach talking about trying to get freshmen some playing time down the stretch.. didn't sound like he's trying to win 2 games that's for sure and doesn't sound like they'll be in focus this week ... Craig Bohl's presser all business, everything a must win... Also bye week on deck for cowboys before AF....

So just curious if you've looked at this one   -13.5 and total at 39.5... Actually think the total could be in jeopardy if Wyoming is getting the ball on a short field most of the game and could see SJ a little gassed most of the game...

Any 411 from you or the board would be great. Thanks!

I agree with this. ND knows if they lose they are more than likely done. Pressure can cause a team to play tight but I think that will come more into play against an offense like Syracuse or on the road against a USC team that everyone will tell them they will blow out.

I’m not one to cry over spilled milk, after all , I’m a cat

that entire 2nd qtr was controlled by the refs, it was either a 17-21 point swing, they gifted Buffalo 2 tds & halted the Miami drive with absolute phantom flags

Buffalo has been great to me all year & my metrics had them winning by 10, I just thought Rags would play well & the Miami scheme would confuse Buff at times, all of that happened

After all the ref fuk job we still had a chance at the end but Buffalo did a great job in dialing up the pressure on Rags to cause the fumble

If Miami coach punts on previous poss instead of giving them an extra fg we also cover

Buffalo is the better team as they’ve shown all year but they should have probably lost last night, Miami should have been up either 24 or 28 to either 14 or 17 & it was Buffalo 28-21

I’ve been on the right side of calls many times in my life, sometimes you get on the wrong side

Every game we bet is in the refs hands but it just isn’t always quite as obvious as last night, oddsmakers do such a great job of setting most lines & one holding call on a TD can change a cover , that’s just what we sign up for, I know this going in & this is why I don’t complain about bad losses

It was a very entertaining game & i did enjoy watching it, I really like the toughness of Ragland & Buffalo has been great to watch all season, huge Qb with big arm & a fun team

I’m a fan of both of those teams

Don’t necessarily disagree here but we can’t set up the entire playoff with Clemson vs 3 SEC teams every year or nobody but the south will watch

Sec is easily the best conference right now & clearly the comm agrees since 4 of them are in the top 10

I don’t mind a michigan or Notre getting in because it’s better for college football & it sets up some nice bets

[/Quote]I didn't really take you for a 'going out of the house' kinda guy...  but I learn something new every week

Used to spend a lot of time out of the house.  I made a point of making it to at least one LSU, UVa and Delaware game per year, got roped into at least one Pitt game, and tried to pick up a new college trip experience each year as well.  Met some Covers folks at UDub and Northwestern.  Made it to Cal, UA, UNC Army and Duke for the first times.  Got rained out at IU twice. Slowed down a lot as Delaware and Virginia combined to suck for a decade.  Pitt is almost always a dreadful experience, even with free luxury box. My LSU tailgate broke up after like 30 years, and this will be the first time in many, many years that I won't make a game. There is some chance I need some new, and better hobbies, or less degeneratey friends.

My comments on the Playoff are many, but I will try to keep it simple:  I don't care who is in the Playoff.  If that was too nuanced, I can simplify further.  peace_5

    A couple of early thoughts...

    - Like the spot for Bama, especially 14 or under or teased below 10. I just don't see any team in the country that keeps the Bama O under 30 points (and that is being very conservative) and I don't feel like this LSU team will be able to keep pace offensively. Yes, this Bama team is not as strong as it has been defensively, but I do not feel like LSU has its traditional weapons to make Bama pay. What I mean is that is LSU had a Fournette, Guice, Ware, Hill etc, I feel like they could potentially pound the ball and keep Tua and co. off the field. Couple that with a few stops (which they will get), the crowd, and you have the potential to frustrate Bama's O. Even then, I still would project that holding them under 30 would be very difficult. As currently constructed though, without that true bellcow threat, I don't see LSU's angle here. But that's why we play the game.

    - Like the O54, I feel like that is a low # see above, LSU will score some points too, this will NOT be the traditional slugfest we've been accustomed to.

    - My gut says UGA -less than 10. Kirby learned from Nick how to beat up on 1 dimensional teams. UK has been fun to watch this year, but they will have a tough time Sat. Don't think the Lexington home field makes to big of a difference. UK has a mobile QB, but he has struggled mightily, and needs another year. UGA playing for style also. Will be close for a decent amount but UGA pulls away late. Like teasing it to under a FG if that option is available.

    - Again, public play, but UF under a TD seems solid. Very hostile environment coming off the loss. Said before last week that UF is a good team, but are atleast 1 year early. Mullen should get them ready to go and they should move the ball. How does Mizzou get up for this massive road game after that heartbreaker? UF should move the ball on the ground, and Mizzou should leave plenty of space for UF's developing passing game.

    - Kansas is usually a tough home cover, but they had a huge win against TCU last week, and should be looking towards that K. St game coming up next week. Okie state got on them pretty good in Lawrence last month. Early kickoff, so Wahoo's nightlive dog rule doesn't apply.

    - Miss. st total seems very very low. Yes, they have been very bad offensively the past few weeks, but they got it together a little last week vs. A&M. Big stepdown in competition in this one as they tuneup before Bama. Spread may be a little high with the lookahead factor, but total should cruise over. La Tech will be throwing a lot in the 2nd half. 78 pts in this game last year, and lets not forget, was not that long ago that this La Tech squad scored 3 TD's against the vaunted LSU defense in Baton Rouge.

    - Like Michigan at home. BIG Revenge factor, Michigan has more to play for. PSU has not played well in big games and their offense doesn't have the same it factor as last year. Not sure if I will pull the trigger here but may be a teaser candidate. Big house will be ROCKIN'

    - Like the over in the Utah St. 'possibly' anything under -21, they're hot right now (does go against Wahoos nightdog rule)

    - Like Fresno St. Another hot team looking to make a statement, UNLV has not been good, Fresno St. is screaming hot (again nightdog rule broken)

    - Hard to stomach a USC bet, but Helton is playing for his job here, against Oregon St? Could turn into a play

    - Thoughts on the option teams?

Don't sleep on Penn State here, last year UM looked like they didn't belong on the same field. Im riding with James.

Wahoo .. You'd be crazy to go against your logic laying that many points on the road with Bama. Even if they win by 100, looking at the results of both teams.. This has to be looked at as Alabama's by far toughest test of the season, and we know what happens in night games in the SEC

Bama is a different animal though. Can't look at them the way you look at the rest of the world.

I hear ya Wahoo about ND I just live in the heart of ND country and the fact that they haven't joined a conf, burns my azz to no end. I know I'm a SEC homer and you can't just throw Clemson and 3 sec teams in there every year but would love to see Wazzu if they win out over them, or Oklahoma over them.  woosah... woosah, lol!

What do you guys make of the MD deal now that they fired Durkin? come out charged up because they got what they want with him gone?

Really like LaTech catching 24 with Miss st having Bama on deck, Miss st can't move the ball, and LaTech isn't awful. can put some points up.
