Vandy at Tennessee

Question

Ok, does anyone think this line is off?  Bray will likely be back for this game at home against a vanderbilt team who just won convincingly against one of the bottom dwellers in the conference.  I get it that vandy has played well this season and probably should have won at least one of the games between UGA and Ark, but had Tennessee not lost Bray, their record would be better and this line would be different.  Also, both of those games were at home, and they haven&#x27;t fared nearly as well on the road this year.  I&#x27;m banking that this line is inflated because of what vandy did last week.  Neyland stadium is a tough place to play for any visitor, much less Vandy.  Thoughts?

hard to bet on UT, but this could end up being an easy winner... if Vandy wins, it will most likely be a late score to get a close win... on the other hand, UT has the ability to pull away in this game if they get a good start, and if Bray does play that's a nice boost for the Vols...

Lol, haven&#x27;t done that all year and now your asking an offense that has no running game and a QB that&#x27;s been injured for a couple of weeks to torch Vanderbilt&#x27; impressive secondary.

should have clarified... UT has the ability to pull away in this game... meaning this rivalry, based on UT's domination...

just have a really hard time believing Vandy ends it's streak of monumental futility against Tennessee on the road, this year...

even in 2008, when Tennessee was one of the worst teams in CFB, hammered by injuries... they still beat Vandy (on the road) as a 3 pt dog... won by 10 points!

and to put it in perspective... coming into that game (in 2008)...

UT was 3-7 ATS and 3-7 SU... 2 of the wins vs. non-conf
Vandy was 6-4 SU and 7-3 ATS... wins vs. So Car, Ol Miss and Auburn
Vandy started the season 5-0 SU and ATS

and Tennessee still won SU, on the road, by 10 points, as a 3 pt dog...

Vandy is averaging 8 PPG on the road this season.  They started the season against SoCar and Bama and scored a total of 3, so that stat is somewhat skewed. However, against UF, they only rushed for 80 while giving up 197 on the ground and 213 through the air.  That&#x27;s 213 to a UF team that has struggled all year passing.  We quickly forget how good Bray was before he got hurt.  He will certainly be rusty but if he is any bit of his former self, Tennessee will move the ball.

I&#x27;ve been very impressed with Vandy this year, but they win this game like once every 12 years.  Seems to me it&#x27;s worth a few dollars to make them prove this is one of them.

I am going to toss my 2 cents in for my team, Tennessee.

First, lets look at who TN has played this year. 5 teams currently ranked in the top 15. Also got beat by Florida very early in the year when they were healthy.

Tennessee has looked pretty dismal this year and trust me, I have endured every bit of it. Just look at it like this; in baseball, a hitter will swing a weighted bat before he hits. If you have ever done this, you know that when you pick up a normal bat, it feels like it weighs nothing. Tennessee has played some of the best teams in the nation and Vanderbilt doesn't come close to any of those teams.

On paper, and how the year has progressed thus far, Vandy should win this game. It would not surprise me one bit but I do not see it happening. Dropping everything, it is still Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Tennessee owns Vandy and that shall continue.

Bray will play. Hopefully he&#x27;s close to 100% but I doubt it. I am a Vol homer but I will not be wagering on UT tomorrow. The fact that Tennessee is getting points against Vandy in Knoxville is almost unthinkable but the Vols are a mess right now. We returned the entire O line from LY but somehow they are playing worse. We currently have the worst group of RBs that I can ever remember and are generating no running game (maybe the two are related)The Vols have also been hit hard by injuries and the fact that they were already a young team with very little depth makes it even more devastating. Oh and we have two punters and neither of them can punt (are their any Colquitts left?).  &#xD;&#xA; Vanderbilt is a more expierienced team that is playing with the fire  that sometimes comes with the enthusiasm of a first year HC, and in my opinion the &#x27;Dores have just been playing better football since the conference schedule has begun.&#xD;&#xA; The Vols are playing to salvage their season as wins against Vandy and UK will make them Bowl eligible and maybe set the tone for next year when most of this team will return. If Bray is close to healthy and UT can generate some sort of a ground game maybe the Vols can prevail. I&#x27;ll be rootin&#x27; hard for them but I will not have any of my cash on the line.

Vols at home catching pts from the dores should tell you all you need to know.Betting on the big orange tomorrow is a huge sucker play.
