Tennessees defense is a joke? How about you learn some facts about football before you pretend to be a scout. Malik Jackson is one of the top 5 lineman in the entire SEC and Tennessee has the best safety combo in the conference (Waggner and Jackson). So im sure you may want to act like you know alot about football but lets be honest, what are your credentials? If all you do is watch it on TV then you have none. Tennessee is a very good football team. We will see what your opinion is about Arkansas after this weekend when they get destroyed by A&M, so lets see how much you guys think of Arkansas after this weekend.

Come on Coach.... Tennessee isn't anywhere close to being a great team.... and the defense that you are talking about, with the best safety tandem in the conference ranks 69th in passing.  Barron and Lester are the best pair of safeties not only in the conference, but in the country.

Most above average SEC programs to me are very good teams and thats what I think Tennessee is. They have a QB, RB and WR that would start for 95% of colleges. And I think Alabamas defense as a whole makes there safeties jobs a lot easier. Barron is a outstanding player and was All Sec first team last year for a reason. But lets not forget Jackson is a year younger and was second team so he is obviously thought highly by more than just me. Not many people talk about Waggner (expect NFL scouts), the kid had 8 takeaways last year and had more than a few All SEC votes. Obviously Alabama has a better defense than Tennessee, a WAY better defense. Derek Dooley is a fantastic young coach, a coach Nick Saban begged to join his staff after taking over at Alabama. Dont sleep on Tennessee

Both coaches know each other very well and have similar approaches to the game. Im just not seeing it. But I am seeing one clear mismatch. And it greatly favors the home team. I have watched several of Alabamas games and it has been a trade mark of Nick Sabans teams for over a decade... they have big strong linebackers (Hightower- 6'4, 260lbs... Upshaw- 6'2, 265lbs.... Johnson 6'3, 250lbs... Harris 6'3, 250lbs).... you know where im going with this... can they really expect to run sideline to sideline with arguably the two fastest running backs in the nation in Demps and Rainey? Who will be on the field at the same time for much of the game? The answer is no, not a chance, not in a million years. So how does Bama counter this? They roll up there safeties and make them "force" players. Or the bring in an extra nickel back (but that takes away from what Bama and Saban likes to do so I dont see that happening) So lets look at Bama rolling up a safety to give an 8 man front. Ok thats an option, and a good one at that. But lets be honest, Demps and Rainey are even mismatches for the most talented safeties, especially Alabamas. You see at Alabama and under Nick Saban (under most true 3-4 schemes) safeties are pretty much like linebackers, and linebackers are pretty much extra defensive lineman. So while Alabama plays excellent gap-assignment football, they simply dont have the speed to keep up with Floridas two play makers in the backfield. Even if Alabama runs an 8 man front with a walked up safety, no one in Alabamas 8 man front can run side line to side line with either of the Gators running backs who like I said above, will be on the field at the same time. No one in Alabamas front 8 can cover Demps or Rainey when they go out for passes and God forbid if one motions out to the slot and gets matched up one-on-one with an Alabama line backer or safety. That has touchdown written all over. My point is simple, I know Bama has a great defense and I respect Nick Saban and Kirby Smart more than any other Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator combo in the country but this is just a match up that they can not win. They have been recruiting for the 3-4 defense for a while now and dont expect them to change simply because of this particular matchup. Thats not how Saban coaches and quite frankly they dont have the players to make such a change. If I were you I would throw out last years game between the two teams as Florida (as a whole) was in a state of confusion with a Head Coach who obviously didnt have his heart in the game and was already planning his retirement, and an offensive coordinator who simply was out foxed by the young Kirby Smart. Dont expect that to happen Saturday as Charlie Weis is probably the greatest offensive mind in college or professional football. He will know how to get the ball into Demps and Raineys hands by more than your simply hand off. Muschamp will have this team ready to play, as will Saban, but this game has one clear mismatch and it is one that Alabama can not counter.

Rumor is that easley may have been injured in practice. It's been confirmed by mods on paid recruiting sites

Laroja, please stop stinking up the place with all the canadian sewage your pouring into this thread.

Statements like "UF needs to play a pro-style offense to better utilize Brantley" and "Demps didn't play in the UF-Bama game last season" will and have discredited all the garbage coming out of your brain.

Try and keep that shit in the bottom feeder threads.

    Thanks.

And you have a ton to offer? Get that shit out of here. I said Rainey didn't play last year, not demps. And Brantely is better suited for the Florida offense, why else would Weis implement it? Learn to read dumbass.

And like I said I like a couple of UT's DL (including Jackson) but obviously you can't read because if you could you would know that JACKSON IS NO LONGER WITH THE TEAM YOU DUMB ASS! And so what if Arkansas loses to Texas A&M this week? A&M is a top 15 team and Arkansas will be without a starting DE and Bequette, their other starting DE, is questionable. Arkansas is an underdog in the game BTW so if they win it would be a mild upset?

I will wait for a friend of mine to call me back (who is on staff for the UF football team) before I comment on the Gators newest speculated injuries. But from another buddy of mine... Eddie Lacey looks bad. That ankle isnt going to be ready come Saturday night. Walking isnt so much a big deal but he cant cut on it at all and thats what Alabamas offense is all about. Make your read, make your cut, and go. Looks like Richardson will have to carry an even bigger load for this game. Could be good news, could be bad news for Gator backers lol

Once again you are talking out of your ass! You are unreal. Lacy has a turf toe and not an ankle. He practiced yesterday and will be fine for kickoff. He played after the injury the other day. But just keep making shit up!

I dont need to talk about my credentials. I just think its funny when the average fan assumes to know anything about schemes or what works and what doesnt. I dont need you to tell me how much money you have won or lost wagering in the past year but im pretty certain your in the negative with most of the "average" fans who think they know everything. Football is a complicated game and I can assure you that if you cant explain every positions responsibilities in Quarters coverage or how a QB should attack cover 9 then you shouldnt be pretending to know football. In fact im sure you have never head either of those words much less know the meaning of them. Not saying everyone on this site doesnt know them, but 99% dont.

Excuse me, I should have said Laceys injury. Im not a doctor I dont disect injuries. All I know is that yes Lacey did practice but he CAN NOT CUT, he CAN NOT put any pressure on his injury. So he MAY PLAY but he will not be able to do what he does to make him effective in that offense. Im sure you can google and find some film from yesterdays practice. Go find it, and them come back to me. Turf toe is a big deal and its bothering Lacey a lot

Yeh I dont think Laceys injuries impacts this game at all. Alabama has a lot of good backs. Was just making a point that both teams have injuries. Obiously missing Easley would be huge against Alabamas physical running style. Will know more in a few hours

The most interesting thing here is that Both teams are perfect ATS
so something has to give.. Unless it goes down to 3 and bama wins by 3 which would push this epic contest into a waste of betting action

If you dont know what the teams are trying to do offensively or defensively then how can you know whether they are being successful or not at it? For instance a lot of fans complain about defensive backs in football but if they knew what coverages they were playing maybe they wouldnt complain so much. Most of the times defenses are in perfect coverage and the offense just makes a good play. There arent as many blown coverage assignments as people think
