UF verse Bama

Bama 6 point favorites on the road IN THE SWAMP? I mean seriously, whats the difference between these two teams? Both have great defenses, a great running game and question marks at QB. Both coaches know each other very well and have similar approaches to the game. Im just not seeing it. But I am seeing one clear mismatch. And it greatly favors the home team. I have watched several of Alabamas games and it has been a trade mark of Nick Sabans teams for over a decade... they have big strong linebackers (Hightower- 6'4, 260lbs... Upshaw- 6'2, 265lbs.... Johnson 6'3, 250lbs... Harris 6'3, 250lbs).... you know where im going with this... can they really expect to run sideline to sideline with arguably the two fastest running backs in the nation in Demps and Rainey? Who will be on the field at the same time for much of the game? The answer is no, not a chance, not in a million years. So how does Bama counter this? They roll up there safeties and make them "force" players. Or the bring in an extra nickel back (but that takes away from what Bama and Saban likes to do so I dont see that happening) So lets look at Bama rolling up a safety to give an 8 man front. Ok thats an option, and a good one at that. But lets be honest, Demps and Rainey are even mismatches for the most talented safeties, especially Alabamas. You see at Alabama and under Nick Saban (under most true 3-4 schemes) safeties are pretty much like linebackers, and linebackers are pretty much extra defensive lineman. So while Alabama plays excellent gap-assignment football, they simply dont have the speed to keep up with Floridas two play makers in the backfield. Even if Alabama runs an 8 man front with a walked up safety, no one in Alabamas 8 man front can run side line to side line with either of the Gators running backs who like I said above, will be on the field at the same time. No one in Alabamas front 8 can cover Demps or Rainey when they go out for passes and God forbid if one motions out to the slot and gets matched up one-on-one with an Alabama line backer or safety. That has touchdown written all over. My point is simple, I know Bama has a great defense and I respect Nick Saban and Kirby Smart more than any other Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator combo in the country but this is just a match up that they can not win. They have been recruiting for the 3-4 defense for a while now and dont expect them to change simply because of this particular matchup. Thats not how Saban coaches and quite frankly they dont have the players to make such a change. If I were you I would throw out last years game between the two teams as Florida (as a whole) was in a state of confusion with a Head Coach who obviously didnt have his heart in the game and was already planning his retirement, and an offensive coordinator who simply was out foxed by the young Kirby Smart. Dont expect that to happen Saturday as Charlie Weis is probably the greatest offensive mind in college or professional football. He will know how to get the ball into Demps and Raineys hands by more than your simply hand off. Muschamp will have this team ready to play, as will Saban, but this game has one clear mismatch and it is one that Alabama can not counter.

Thats a classic case of how simply looking at end of game statistical totals can fool you and lose you a lot of money. Against Tennessee Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps ran the ball 31 times for 156 yards (an average of over 5 yards a carry). They combined to catch 6 passes for 141 yards (an average of 23 yards per catch). You need to learn what to look for in games and not totally depend on box scores. The Gators were up 30-7 with 8 minutes to go in the third quarter. From that point on Demps and Rainey ran basic Isos up the middle to drain the clock (something you wont see against Alabama). Generally when your up 3 plus touchdowns midway through the third quarter you get conservative and thats what the Gators did. They won the game and it wasnt as close as the score board indicated. Tennessee is a lot better than people give them credit for and probably has one of the better all around offenses in the SEC. But im not a big fan of looking at past games to predict future games, however in this case you can easily see that Florida has the fastest team in the SEC. Everyone talks about how Alabama has a handful of future NFL players on there defense but so does this Florida team. Three future first rounders start on there defensive line and not one of them can Alabama handle without double teaming. This is a simply bad match up for them 

That quote came from Jon Gruden, but what does he know right? Everywhere Charlie Weis has been his offenses has dominated and he has turned average quarterbacks into elite quarterbacks. People may only look at Notre Dames wins and losses but forget that they were terrible on defense, yet there offense (which was what Charlie was in charge of) was dynamic and always top 10-15 in the country. Charlie Weis's offenses broke so many offensive records at Notre Dame, most importantly points per game with an average of 38 and he set the record for improving an offense in a first year by any head coach in the history of college football. And that was with a terrible Brady Quinn. I admire your ignorance though, im sure it has been winning you a lot of money 

A combined 31 times for 156 yards does not impress me lol...Conservative or not... They didn't become conservative because of those rushing yards, that's for sure. If they rushed for that against Tennessee, I would imagine that they would rush for half of that against Alabama. A team is made up of more than two players. One of those two players, MIGHT get a lucky long TD run, but that's it. You still have the rest of the offense, which I'm sorry, just doesn't match up against Alabama's defense. And the majority of the points that came from Florida at that point, came from field goals. The rest were from the QB, or the QB passing, not the RB's. 

Have you ever met John Gruden? didn't think so.  I know you think differently, and I understand that,  but trust me when I tell you this, there is absolutely nothing special about you. So you go ahead and pound your team like a good little homer donkey and see what happens. Guys like you are a dime a dozen, you are entertaining though. Just please stop trying to pass off your opinion as being knowledgeable or unbiased. Comparing anything that happened with Florida will make you go broke this year. They lost to MSU, South Carolina and FSU last year. That should say it all

Honestly, I don't see the Gators hanging within this number.  I can't and won't bet it because my heart is too heavily invested in rooting for the Gators, but I think bama wins by around 10.  Rainey and Demps have been dominating and quite frankly are our entire offense but we haven't faced a defense close to Bama yet.  Yes, speed is speed but Bama is going to stack the box and make Brantley beat them, which won't happen.  

Unfortunately, I see a 24-14 type game
