So what are you saying? Break it down the other way then. Who wins- Fsu vs lsu, fsu vs georgia, fsu vs ole miss, fsu vs tex am, fsu vs south carolina? Give me reasons for a few of those. Not schedule related. Reasons... Home or away. Lets go Florida st at south carolina

This debate with this team is just as dumb "since Team A lost to team B, and team C beat team B, team A will loose to team C"

I can see if they were barely getting by their opponents, and having all kinds of chinks in their armor, but they are doing what they are supposed to go in and do every week.  So what would SEC schools scores be vs Florida State's schedule?

Never said they would lose to any of those teams, nor did i use any sort of transitive property when talking about FSU. Just said their schedule was weak and they didnt pass any eye test when going through a schedule where their were double digit favs in every game except one. Those spreads were an indictment to how bad their competition was.

FSU would more than likely win all those games on a neutral field.

That being said if those 5 games are the meat of their schedule and had to play say A&M and UGA back to back, then go on the road and play LSU and Ole Miss they could easily have a loss.

Being favored by 30 plus points for over half your games shows that you're a good team but if you dont think it displays how bad your opposition was then you're not thinking clearly

Trust me i know the opposition is bad but sometimes thats just the way it is and that doesnt mean the team cant be the best team out there. College bball example in 07 when memphis was awesome with drose, everyone was like they play crap teams they arent good. Well they did play crap teams, but anyone with a brain knew how good the talent was on the team and they were legit. FSU is great. And fsu by the way was considered great in the 90s and the acc was just as bad then so i dont know what the difference is.

I just saw the line and came on to make a similar thread but u beat me to it.

I hit Auburn +9 and can't believe that line. I had it pegged at auburn -2.5 with a chance for them to slide to -3 or even FSU a small favorite, but FSU -9???

Auburn great story this season.  But have you seen FSU play?  They only have one game where they won by less than 20 points.  FSU will roll in this game just like most of the other ones.  I thought Michael Vick was something in college, but Winston is unreal.  FSU defense is for real too.  Even as well as Auburn has done this season just don't see them hanging with FSU.

Taking AUB and the points.  Not a defense in the country cna stop it.
Fla St. backers should take into consideration that AUB is battletested. IMO this will be a close game AUB covers

I partially agree with ^^^^^ and agree with others that FSU has premium talent on both sides.  Furthermore, when has FSU's defensive talent been tested this year AND how is that talent going to react when tested Jan. 6th.  This is an unknown for the next 27 days, which is not the best game to finally test your D, with the N/C hype and everything else driving emotions.  IMHO, FSU could easily find theirselves in early, unchartered territory, possibly being behind and not in control of their "normal-controlling" offensive M.O. However, Famous Jameis and crew should be able to get chunks through the air on AUB in this scenario ( can we say over).  I've watched every game that both have played this year.....I have a serious futures play on FSU +3000, which was placed in August due to their talent and light schedule.  I'm shocked that I can NOW get AUB at +9 for nice half-hedge & a legit middle opportunity.

Again, IMHO, this game will be close within the spread with the high possibility of an AUB W, based upon what their "freight train" of an offense can do to an adversary.

The BCS got it right for this one.  Makes for great debate, speculation and will be a highly hyped game. Let's just hope that there will not be any key-player, gangsta suspensions on either side.  Good luck to all!!!

If you have watched FSU this year, you understand that FSU could put up 80 points in any given game if they play 4 full quarters of football.

They put up 63 vs Maryland and had 0 points with like 4 minutes left till halftime.

Lets not forget that Clemson beat Georgia when Georgia was at full strength and one of the best teams in the country. Then FSU absolutely murders Clemson in the biggest game of their year.

I could see FSU winning this game 52-28 or something like that

The great Auburn offense has been shut down several times this seasons. See Washington State, Miss State, Ole Miss, LSU, 2nd half of the Georgia game. FSU is on pace to set the NCAA record for points in a season (they need 28 pts to break the record). The lowest offensive output on the season has been 37 points.

FSU has the athletes to commit extra players to stopping the run and leaving their DBs to cover Auburn WRs 1-1. Mario Edwards will set the edge. The LBs and Safeties are sure tacklers. If Auburn is in 3rd and 5 or longer....it's game over
Easy to break records when you don't play anybody.  Again apples to oranges...Fl St doesn't play in the SEC.  Yeah they are real good, but I don't think they are good enough to beat Auburn.
How will Auburn stop FSU's offense? Are they going to blitz the hell out of Jameis? Jameis is one of the best QBs versus the blitz. Go look at his production on 3rd and ten or longer....

FSU is going to score 40 in this game.....will Auburn?

Earthwake I'm with you in the ballpark of that score prediction. I felt like the line would be -7 and ended up a half point off... huge public money probably will be on Auburn at 7.5 and smart money on FSU. IMO this FSU team is one of the most talented teams in college football history. Their depth, and the athleticism of their depth is unmatched by any team since the last Miami team that won it all IMO. The SEC is the big boy conference but if this FSU team played in the SEC this year they would still be undefeated. Not to take anything away from Auburn, but Bama is not the same Bama from the past 2 seasons. Their defense at times has been very average, and it took missed field goals, a bad gamble by Saban late going for it instead of going up by 10, and then the play of the century to beat them at home. FSU would roll Bama in a home game and they'd roll any SEC team this year given how average and at times poor defenses like LSU, A&M and UGA have been. This isn't crazy talk and this isn't my first rodeo following a season of college football. FSU is THAT good. I picked them to win it all last year (was a yr early) and went with them again this yr. Their depth is ridiculous everywhere except QB given the Coker injury, and overall, the talent of this team is off the charts and that simple fact needs to be considered here. In comparing individual units/positions, I'd grade FSU as an A or A+ at every single area. FSU doesn't have a single weakness anywhere except the backup QB situation. Whereas with Auburn, there is a glaring weakness - their secondary, which IMO is a C+ give or take. Needless to say, that one weakness will get exploited in a big big way. If Franklin can carve them up for 42, what will Jameis do? I know. Do you? 52-24 Noles

Pnutt - to answer your question.... No, Auburn will absolutely not score 40. Hell will freeze over before that happens. I'll be utterly shocked if Auburn scores 30 for that matter. Auburn has the new school, sexy offense that is getting all the hype here, and deservingly so, but here's my take on it.... IMO - For as good as Auburn's offense is, FSU's defense is twice as good. FSU's defense is more dominant than FSU's offense. And we know how good their offense is. The FSU defense gets some love from the media and all of us, but not nearly enough. It's a historically good defense. No ifs ands or buts about it.

It wasn't my question but I apprecaite  your viewpoint.  I can see why people like FSU so much but I think FSU is getting too much credit.  They do look awfully good on paper and against weaker teams in their conference and the looked great against a weak Florida team.  I may be wrong, I just think Auburn is the better team by far on offense, not defense obviously but I believe their offense is good enough to make up for the problems on defense.  I think the naysayers are going to be suprised at just how good Auburns Offense is against the FL D.  Look what the Auburn Offense has done to all these supposed great Defenses like Alabama, Missouri,, etc.  I think it's easy to look at the numbers FL ST puts up and think they are so much better...but they haven't played the kind of schedule Auburn does so the numbers don't mean as much.  I know FSU aren't pushovers and Auburn has to get on the field and actually play the game.  With the time Malzahn has to prepare, I think it's going to be scary how good Auburn looks and I think they do put up more than 40.  They will have to to win, probably need to put up 50.  The over in this game should be an almost give me and is probably the more "sure" bet than picking either team.  I'm not always right but I think Auburn shocks everyone and wins by 10 in an offensive shoot out!

I'll won't be the first to tell you this but Florida st is #1 for a reason even Alabama didn't make it to this game. Florida st. Is The real deal they would have beaten Alabama by 14 pts max. Aurburn O has been stop before! Thats More tape to study on how to stop that  O.  better! Good luck Auburn with finding a way to stop Florida state O because nobody has yet.  I say 38 -17 final score. Florida st.

I appreciate your opinion and I surely understand why a lot of people agree with you but I think Auburn will prove that they are the better team.  Too much Offense that will overwhelm FS Us Defense and keep them guessing, no matter how much time they have to prepare.  Remember Auburn has just as much time to prepare for their Defense as FSU does for Auburns Offense and that most always favors the Offense.

Pnutt - strongly disagree with most of your last post. FSU throttled Clemson IN Clemson by 40. UGA, who Auburn needed a small miracle to beat, lost to Clemson. The schedule is what it is, but I'm telling you FSU would go undefeated in the SEC even if the schedule was stackjed with bama txam uga usc lsu aub and mizz. I genuinely believe FSU would win each and every one of those games at home OR on the road, and most would be double digit Ws. Fact.

I agree that FSU would be a power house in the SEC, but the SEC is a tough conference very rarely do teams end the season undefeated. If FSU came out the way they did in the first half versus Duke last week against an SEC team it could be real trouble. I think FSU wins, but Auburn covers. Jameis also came out very slow and over threw every receiver in the first quarter, he can't be making those mistakes come January.

I genuinely believe FSU would win each and every one of those games at home OR on the road, and most would be double digit Ws. Fact.
All good teams have a bad game and that was a while back.  I don't think FSU would go undeated in the SEC.  The schedule is too tough week in and week out, but they would be a real good SEC team for sure.  I'm not saying FSU is a bad team.  They are a great team but they have shown signs of inconsistency even against bad teams and they can be scored on.  They have areas of weakness that aren't always apparent playing weak teams and these are the areas that Malzahn is a genuis at exploiting.  You take away one thing from them then that leaves you vunerable in another area and Malzahn will take advantage.  Not only is he a genuis at preparing and getting his players to understand and execute on the field he is awesome at adjusting his game plan..in game.  so FSU can prepare and prepare and makes stops here and there but whenever they over commit to stopping one thing, then Auburn will do the other and they will romp all over the field.  I'm not worried at all about Auburns' Offense being up to the task...My only worry is the defense not being able to stop FSU but I think they are good enough and have enough time to prepare.  I think having time to prepare will greatly favor Auburn in this contest.  I've been wrong before and the players will have to get on the field...all the opinions in the world aren't gonna change the outcome of the game.  They will prove us either wrong or right.  No amount of speculation will change what happens on the field.  They still have to throw, catch, run, tackle etc and sometimes teams don't play up to their abilities...so teams that should win often don't much to my chagraine sometimes.  But Auburn has so far proven to be very consistent and they've already had their bad game..enough to keep them honest and not fall for thinking they are gonna just walk in and win.  It's a HUGE game, they know it and they will be up for it...as FSU.  I don't think this will be a game that anyone can say, oh they just had a bad day...The BEST TEAM will win...and that doesn't always happen.  I think Auburn wins and with the points I think it's a great pick.  I predict Auburn 51 - 41 in a shootout!!!

Jameis also came out very slow and over threw every receiver in the first quarter, he can't be making those mistakes come January.

SEC is the better conference for sure. But I don't care if Alabama can go into the death valley and smoke Clemson I would pick Auburn. But didn't the Acc beat SEC it was Clemson v.s LSU last year in the bowl game. Players size and matchups are very even in the NCaa all positions but talent level is every where. SEC has A lot but so does ACC but Florida st has so many super stars on that team is ridiculous. I know they look bad the first have with duke but duke is a small team very few super stars but they play hard and are smart. They played there hearts out but they can only do so much because Florida st will tear you apart. Florida st was little surprised by how duke came out but by the end it was a butt woop.iing

I agree with you 100% this Florida st team is something else. I bet Alabama lost on purpose so they don't have to play Florida st. In the championship game. Florida. St would beat Alabama very bad after I I though over the scenario.
