SMU, in their season opener tonight, with a brand new OC and DC go into this year with clear playoff expectations - Returning 5th year QB Jennings has his 2 top receiving targets gone and replaced this year but has a solid veteran O-line in front of him...

FL State played week zero game against New Mexico St - with a less than convincing performance riddled with issues on both sides of the ball AND against a team they should have boat raced. They've had all week to hear how bad they played and all of their glaring deficiencies from the fans and respected analysts. I'm pretty confident that this past week's practices have addressed all of this while making many adjustments and corrections. I'm also going to mention that their motivation/intensity for the N Mexico State game probably wasn't maxed out to say the least....especially knowing that this SMU game, a nationally televised Monday night matchup was next up for them.

Don't underestimate the chip on the shoulder and a game under their belt, I'm taking the home dog FL STATE SEMINOLES + 3.5 (- 130 BETMGM) to show up big here with a chance to prove themselves with "everyone" watching

As ugly a cover as it gets!

I am thankful that SMU’s “first game” mistakes/penalties showing up large …they probably won’t play a game that bad again this season.

Also a huge remainder to myself that reinforces paying the additional vig for the extra 1/2 point on key even numbers matters.. 

Graciously accepting the “W” here… moving on to tomorrow’s NFL opener!

 Bought the 1/2 point as well!  -120 with  "The Score" app.  

But lost my covers on the "King of the Covers" play at +2.5.  Like my money better, though! :)

 At -120 that was a great deal! I was lucky enough to get the extra hook in the morning on Bet MGM at -130, watching as by 2 PM Pacific time, it was -145, and at kick it was at -140 on Bet MGM

You have no ability to fluctuate with the king of covers play… is what it is there. As you said money, cash is the key on that win.

I should also mention it works both ways obviously. If you liked SMU and your book had it at -3 flat, that key number, I would buy that down to -2.5. In either scenario, no matter who you liked last night, if your betting line was three flat, and you bought the hook to your favor, you cashed a winning ticket today.

 Just seeing if I can even post in here.  Things on Covers seemed to have changed.  Like where the Forum area for all sports are.  I had to type in "Covers Sports Forums.." to even get here..
