Need help settling debate on Florida & Tennessee

I say that Florida at home with Tebow and Floridas backups would beat Tennessee.

He disagrees.  What are your thoughts, or more importantly who would cover the spread of UF -3?

The spread is not UF-3, but to answer your question:

This one will be fun to watch.....I suspect Kiffin will spend the entire afternoon holding up that playsheet in front of his mouth....Wouldn't want the TV audience to see that big Gator d_ick in his mouth

Not saying UT will win... I'm just pointing out that a lot of coaches talk like that.

i could be wrong, but isn't he just talking about who would cover the spread of UF (-3)... IF Florida was using Tebow and all 2nd stringers against Tennessee?
 
as in... hypothetical scenario?
 
personally, i think Florida would win...

Not first year coaches that are taking over struggling programs that have to go on the road the first month of the season and play the #1 team in the country (the same number #1 team he was trashing).

 

Besides Kiffin, no one is that stupid.

I don't think Kiffin is stupid, he was trying to win over some of the fans. Nonetheless, this will be a thrashing on Saturday. No doubt about that.

I think that this year's game will be a lot like last year's game.  Poor Tennessee, most of my family are big Tennessee fans.  I bet them last year against UCLA, did not fall into that trap this year.  Good luck on your plays.

The spread is 28.5 which is way more than I would have imagined, but the Gators ARE THAT GOOD.

I think the Gators could still beat UT. The Gators are literally 2 deep at every position on defense. Not to mention all the ridiculous athletes they could trot out there to play RB and WR.

As for the real scenario, does UT have a chance at beating the Gators, of course. It's a small chance but nonetheless a chance. Crazier things have happened in college football.

Didn't Jim Harbaugh run his mouth off about how Pete Carroll was going to leave USC and that recruits should stay away from that program. Then Harbaugh goes out and beats USC.

It might look like Lane's stupid, and regarding THIS game probably so, but I think in the long run he did what he did to establish himself with the fans and everyone else that IS Tenn. I think he knows Fla is going to use HIM as their bulletin board poster boy, but he's actually in a win, win here. If they get CLOBBERED, ( and thats a good possibility) he uses it to recruit ( "see son, we need your help here to beat Fla"). If they play Fla close, he uses it to recruit ( son, we need YOU to get us over the top). And if they ever did the unimaginable, and won!, he can use it to recruit! ( Dont you want to come to a winner son?) The only thing he did, was throw THIS years team under a bus....er TRAIN!!!

As far as second team vs first team........thats inane, unless Tebows got a twin on the second. Maybe TROYS first team vs Flas 2, but not Tenn.

No literally UF's second string would beat UT...they brought back their two deep on D and Tebow's backup is a stud as well...along the lines would be the only problem.

Personally, I am ( laying wood), I just HATE that all the value is gone from Fla. Back in the day, this was something that might have been inside info or most would have dismissed it, not SEEING it. But in the media age we live in i.e. FISHBOWL, cant take a crap without somebody knowing what color it was!!

Thank you, it is only a HYPOTHETICAL SCENARIO.  My brother a huge Tennessee fan thinks they will win or keep it close.  I said I doubt they could even beat Floridas second string + Tebow.  I wanted to let him know that I wasn't the only one who thinks that.  I was curious as to others thoughts.

HOLY  SHIT guys.....the answer is YES.....gator backups with Tebow would win AND cover a hypothetical 3 point spread.....!!!!

to take it even further.....remove Tebow......insert Brantley (better than vol QB's ......by a mile ?).....they still get their ass kicked....

any thoughts of vols making a game of this were removed by HOME loss to UCLA....
