Final note on the Ball St game.
We will note that if you guys want - like we said earlier - NW TT under 35 is also a good play. We have NW scoring 36+ only 33% of the time; NW covering -20 about 40% of the time. We posted the +20 knowing that everyone can get that line if they choose.
Remember tho - we also loved E Michigan to go over last wk 
so our process finds bad picks more than occasionally !!!......NW winning 38-10 is entirely possible.

IMO, it's a great situational spot to catch Stanford coming off a signature win vs USC. Not to mention the look-ahead spot with Zona on deck at home.

I am worried about every pick I make. There are more than a few things that make me worry about this game
We would be worried if we had Ball St ML. Or Ball St +10. There is risk in taking Ball St and a realistic chance they don't cover - but we feel it is a good play based on the line of +20. The QB is a true freshman. There are many true and redshirt freshmen nowadays that come in and do a good job. NW QB is a redshirt FR with one TD pass on the season.Yes Ball is missing a couple of starters on D but even late Sept most teams are banged up. From reading Ball St news/notes/coaches stuff they are going to be more than able to put capable guys on the field. The totality of our analysis is what makes us play the game - injuries are typically overrated unless a top QB / crappy backup or a cluster of injuries. And again - we are catching 20 points so it is all about context. Final note - they may also be without one of their top OL for the game 
. You make very good points as usual but my suggestion is always - if you don't like it - don't play it - or fade it. MTSU vs Bama and UConn last wk vs Mizz had all sorts of doubt in our minds but we just go with our process and its only one game. GL this wk ! keep up the good work. mega

Hey buddy...I really like VT at the opener around -4 on Sunday - just missed it was paying attention to other games - once it got to 7 I lost interest b/c I do not trust VT QB situation on the road (maybe I should?) and I know this is a big game for EC. I am taking a pass on this one due to my unfamiliarity with EC right now / potential weather issues / and VT has ACC on deck....Gun to the head would roll with EC but would want 10 maybe game day it pops back up.....GL !

Baylor 34.5 Rice (74.5)
We looked at this one for a long time starting on Sunday night....Just cannot bring ourselves to take Rice in this one even though we originally leaned that way....Baylor off a bye and put up 56 and 66 the first 2 games - Rice is a much better overall team - BUT - their D is pretty subpar and #111 in pass eff D which means 22,000 yds for Baylor QBs no matter who is in the game....Not sold on the Baylor D but do not want to get caught up in one half of watching them vs SMU - kinda like the Cincy backup QB - Covers Talent Evaluator guy noted he sucked vs Miami ohio then threw for 4 miles last night but we digress.....Baylor probably gonna get 55-70 in this game.....We like the Rice QB but just can't play the dog - spread looks a bit high technically but ????
Summary - lean Rice TT over as best bet in that game if 21 or less even better if 20. Should be able to score some.
