I reference 18 different Bowl specific angles (NOT trends) picked up over the years. Not foolproof but fairly consistent over the years.
Will have write-ups as games kick and will rate as single/double play. Good luck everyone with your Bowl plays.
Bet 'em, fade 'em, ride 'em, blast 'em. I'm rollin' with 'em.
MINNESOTA + 13 (2**)
TT has #2 passing O in country and #16 scoring O. And they also come into this one losing 4 of last 5; only win in 2OT vs doormat (1-11) Kansas. They allowed over 47 ppg over last 6 games and when you add in their early couple cupcake games, they still avg over 31 ppg allowed. Last 4 road games saw them give up 53, 55, 59, and 52. And Tommy Tuberville taking a swipe at an Asst.
Gophers are certainly no juggernaut and not nearly the fire power of Baylor, K-St, and OKla but they're ranked #9 in pass D, have played a schedule with 7 Bowl teams, and think Jerry Kill comes up with enough to keep this close.
Gophers a bit of added incentive here. These 2 played 2006 Insight Bowl and saw Minn embarrass themselves blowing a 31 pt lead, giving Tech biggest Bowl comeback ever. Would guess Kill and Gophers watch that film a few times!

NEBRASKA +10.5 (2**)
NEBRASKA ML +310
Dawgs a few seconds away from playing for the BCS Championship but instead get to face a team that allowed 640 yds, 70 pts, and got bigtime asskicking in Big10 Championship. Also need to mention the Huskers self destructed in 4th qtr vs S Car last years Capital Bowl.
Just think Taylor Martinez presents major matchup probs vs Dawg D that ranked #93 vs the run. Huskers #6 rushing attack in country and Burkhead finally healthy. Wisky ran the ball down Huskers throat. Don't see Dawgs doing that. And with #2 passing D in nation, should be able to keep Murray in semi-check. Bo P teams have always showed up for business following a loss, and with a little luck will hope that Mark Richt will get plenty of golf in.
Maybe-or maybe not, of mention is also the end of an era of Husker football. Jan 1, 2013 also the final day of Husker A.D. Tom Osborne after about 140 years of Nebraska football. Maybe one of those worthless intangibles, who knows..
