    the reason is popularity
oregon state they lost at USC by 6
we beat oregon state by 10 in their place so our weak ass schedule must really be weak
who on your schedule would we lose to? Penn State? Maybe it would be a good game....other than that you havent played shit....northern iowa is a fcs team that took you down to the wire what other research do you want me to do?  are they a good FCS team? Sure, does that excuse you almost losing? No, anyways enjoy your ranking till you come to ohio state but im sure that game will be played in a monsoon  or something to negate the difference in speed............you have 3 players that will play in the NFL next year on D we have at least 3 on offense that will be draft bound next april so quit acting like you're better youre not

Iowa Wr are better/or at least more depth....thats great, but they dont use them, so it doesnt matter....

    nuetral field:

    cincy 27 Iowa 17

Ummm...Arizona.  PSU hasn't lost since, their QB and RB play are good as most.  Their D is better than most.  You are flat wrong.

PSU has played a worse non-conference schedule than Iowa which is really saying something......i'll agree the comment cincy 27 iowa 17 is flat out wrong Cincy would score more than 27 and iowa less than 17

Iowa would beat Cincy in a bowl game, because of playing over all better competition, also because Iowa has over all better athletes.  Whisky beat Fresno State (very underated team) and so did Cincy, but Fresno State DOMINATED all the stats in this game against Cincy except the score...Iowa BEAT whisky in Wisconsin.  Really, you don't honestly believe Cincy could beat PSU, Whisky, and MSU in the same season in their houses, do you????    I really think Iowa has the edge by playing a better, tougher, over all schedule.  Not slighting Cincy at all.  The polls have it rght.  What are you credentials, besides being a homer?  Cincy would finish 4th in the Big ten Behind PSU, OSU, and Iowa.  Get over yourself.

who on your schedule would we lose to?

There are 5 teams on Iowa's schedule that would or could beat Cincy.

And there is no way you can argue with a straight face that Cincy would have gone through Iowa's road schedule unbeaten.

I'm sorry I lost you laughing at the comment " also because Iowa has over all better athletes."

Umm, Hawks have 3 guys on defense that will be playing on Sundays, and two from the offense that we know of.

    Cincy?

Wisky, MSU, Penn State-these schools are good not great.
Gilyard and Pike will be in the top 60 picks next year....our Left Tackle Linckenbach will be drafted in the first 5 rounds.....so theres three on offense....We went to Oregon State and won stop acting like we can't play on the road

    Good discussion...

Think that teh real question here is how good is Iowa's defense.  You can throw everything else out.  Does not look like Cinncy has missed a step with Pike out.  The line is giving to much time.  I would have took  Mich St this week if i played, and was suprised Iowa was able to move the ball.

Not sure who win the Battle of Iowa's D vs Cincy O

If Iowa D wins the battle and keep Cincy with 21 i think Iowa wins.  If Cincy scores more than 21 Iowa will not keep up.

CIncy Will never be in the National Championship game.  Even if they had a perfect record.  They do not deserve to be there.

    Iowa could go.......

Name calling always shows a sign of ignorance and low self-esteem  That's okay.  ALL the polls I just saw tonight on ESPN show Iowa  1st or 4th....and Cincy isn't one of the three ahead of them. Don't know where you are getting your info, but stop embarassing yourself.  We will never find out who is really better, so this is just ridiculous.  I am done with you, your just not worth it.  I hope most Cincy fans have more class than you do,  I know the team does, as they are well coached, and Kelly seems to have it together, Coach Kelly is a class act.  Too bad you don't get that.  BOL to Cincy.

Iowa is 8-0 with the #15 SOS.  Cincinnati is 7-0 with the #76 SOS.

    Iowa's resume > Cincinnati's resume

They have proven to be a good team.  I'm not dumb enough to say that Iowa would blow them out based on this; in fact, I could easily see Cincinnati beating them.  However, those numbers do say something.

On a neutral field, I'd take Iowa by 3 probably.  At Cincinnati, it's Cincy by a TD.  At Iowa, it's Iowa by a TD.  It'd be a hell of a game either way, and I'd certainly like to see it.  Two of the best coaching staffs in the country at making adjustments.

I agree based purely on SOS numbers Iowa is more impressive....But our margin of victory and WOW factor when watching us is much higher IMO

Gilyard and Pike will be in the top 60 picks next year....

Top 60, wrong answer. Top 10 respective to their positions, maybe or probably. But still not on the level which Iowa has produced in the past or what is on the current team.

our Left Tackle Linckenbach will be drafted in the first 5 rounds....

His stock is no where near Bulaga's 1st round status.

.so theres three on offense....We went to Oregon State and won stop acting like we can't play on the road

I never said that. I said there's no way Cincy would survive Iowa's road schedule.

Oregon St is basically a .500 team. Iowa has already beaten 6 bowl teams. And Cincy?

No, Oregon State just almost beat USC in LA theyre more than a 500 team......but MSU is basically a 500 team so is Wisconsin. Iowa State is dog shit so is Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, Arkansas State. Penn State is impressive and Arizona is too, although you played them when they weren't clicking on all cylinders like they are now. It amazes me you think that you played this killer schedule when you break it down you've got a great road win in happy valley and a good win at home against Arizona....other than that youve struggled to take care of business against 3 teams you should have blown out. Lastly if you do an eye ball test watching the two teams play its easy to see who is the more talented team.....its cincy......
Wahoo's thread this week......"watching Iowa play MSU was like having triple by-pass surgery. "  He is a respectable capper with ACC (neutral) ties..... He has Cincy 4th in the country which is where they should be

    You're rationalizing more stupid again.

One last time: Iowa's .633 winning percentage for their opponents is not only better than Cincy's, but anyone else in the top 10. Hence the reason why Iowa jumped past Cincy into the 4th spot.

    2. How many bowl bound teams has Cincy beaten compared to Iowa's?

That is why there is no argument when comparing the strength of schedules.

You guys should be more worried about Boise St stealing a BCS bowl from you guys.

    Oregon State's record: 4-3 (2-2)

And two of those wins are against Portland State and a 2 point win over UNLV!

The .500 tag for Oregon St stands.

By the way, that same Oregon State team lost at home to Arizona the week after they lost to Cincy.

Right your whole argument should be with an emphasis on the W against Arizona its a great win even though they weren't rolling like they are now......Portland State you can laugh all you want but everyone schedules FCS teams its just some dont need 2 blocked FG's at the end to sneak out a W......I'm not trying to say that Iowa doesn't have a better SOS than Cincy but bowl bound teams? Rutgers, Fresno, Oregon State, South Florida will all go to bowls.....So will UCONN, WVU, and Pitt.  Theres 7 bowl teams not saying there all good teams but you asked.  Iowa's .633 winnning percentage is great but keep in mind Penn State has helped with that and they haven't played anyone.  Look you should be in the top 10 but the eye ball test says Cincy by 3tds on a neutral field
