I just can't do this anymore

I been looking forward to football season to start for 6 months and now I think I'm through for the year. The way I feel right now is not worth the risk of winning. In other words I suffer much more from a devastating loss like this than I would be happy by a win. I never win bets like this anyway. I just can't describe how bad I feel right now.

Certainly here what you're saying man. I was on Miami 2nd Half pretty large. Loss like that is like a kick to the nuts. I know it's easier said than done, but you gotta shake it off and move on. If you can't, than yes like you said. Maybe you should quit. No shame in it.

Dude..............you ABSOLUTELY cannot get emotionally invloved with your plays !! Win or lose. You are investing too much emotion in a play There will be days like this.......... . just wondering, how much did you lose here?

I look at this way..maybe you lose one like this, but win one later in the season the same way. It all evens out!! Hang in there.

one fucking game out of how many.  you should not be gambling.  maryland outgained them by 130+ yards it's not like miami deserved to cover or you capped the game right.

Reason I ask how much is because,   if you are wagering on games to pay bills, pay the rent, pay for your car repair...............DON'T EVER DO THIS !!!

 

KEEP THE MONEY YOU WAGER TOTALLY SEPERATE FROM THE MONEY YOU NEED TO LIVE,(buy groceries, pay the rent etc etc)

No need to be a dick here guys. The guy suffered a bad beat and is understandably a little rattled by it. Don't need all the sarcastic and smart ass "see you tomorrow type of comments. Come on

Regardless of whether he "capped the game right" or not, when you are covering and have the ball with 30 seconds left, and lose on a garbage TD like that it's a bad beat. No way around it.

SHAKE IT OFF......We have all been there....and it will happen again...not gonna lie to ya.....we have all suffered way more than one bad beats....just take a couple of days off....clear your head....stay within your bankroll..

I was on Miami myself and am still a little angry about the ending, but let's get real here.  Anyone posting on a gambling message board in the first place is a degenerate, so no single bad beat or late pick-6 is going to suddenly make a guy quit gambling, especially the first week of football season.  Unless the original poster had his mortgage on this game (in which case I don't feel sorry for him whatsoever), then he'll be back at it Thursday along with the rest of us.

The Covers message board is no place to find sympathy, believe me, I've looked.  But like others have said, shake the shit off and move on.

was going to post something similar to this and saw Alien's comments... if you want my advice:

1) don't ever bet LARGE... i know many will disagree with this, but if you are good at what you do, and disciplined at it, there is no reason to vary the size of your bets... when you do, you can lose 3 wins worth of money on one bad beat, and it puts you behind the 8 ball psychologically and emotionally, and those aspects of betting can be crippling...

2) make your wagering amount small enough that no one loss ever defeats you... if you are trying to build your bankroll with home runs, you are doing this for the wrong reason, and  you aren't in it for the long haul...


this game is all about discipline!  don't ever let one game beat you down!
