tommy....I made killing playing hs ball last year.  I guarantee you that we will have some haters telling us hy you guys betting on high school ball.  But whats new.  When it comes to betting high school ball the more info you have the better because I know that 5 dimes uses a computer system to come up with their lines for this and move the lines drastically according to the action they receive.  And regarding what lines they will have, they only offer lines for games that are on national tv. Meaning any game on espn or any of the FSN's.  Besides that they wont offer,

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Game played out exactly as we thought.  Bishop Gorman dominated the trenches and wore out the Chaparral D.  Ran all over them when all said and done.

Working on Avon vs. Avon Lake on FS Ohio my book already has a number out

Avon has 14 starters back and 24 lettermen from a 10-1 team last year....including a QB who has played some and a RB with Tennessee, UCONN, Illinois and Minnesota offers ......coach worries about team getting big heads after 10-0 reg. season.....last time (2008) team slipped to 6-4

Last year's 21-3 loss left a bad taste in Avon Lakes mouth and the players have been talking about the game all season.....however the team loses 17 starters which is sort of customary for the program.......run heavy offense

Early line is the "home" Avon team, -2.5, last year's 21-3 winner....game to be played at Avon middle school

Leaning towards a small wager on Avon -2.5 or no play at all

im playing at clickngamble which is my locals site it has all the same numbers as sportsbet.com and Im assuming 5dimes as well

Huge card this weekend lots of TV games very excited!!!!!

Columbus North Indiana vs Columbus East Indiana is one game that will be under the national spotlight

East has the nation's #1 QB Recruit Gunner Kiel committed to Indiana and this game is on TV solely for that reason

If North was a formidable opponent then I could see Kiel struggling like he did Week 1 where he was 4-17 for 44 yards

It was a mixed bag for Kiel, who is working with an almost entirely new group of receivers this season. He struggled a bit with his accuracy in the first half and was victimized by some dropped balls in the second half, including one deep pass that would have been a sure touchdown.

He did manage to rush for 70 yards on 10 carries in his team's 28-7 win against an Greenville team that had 7!!! turnovers and acutally had a yardage edge at halftime (East is ranked 5 in IN Class 4A)

Columbus North and senior quarterback Kyle Kamman. Quite a bit of inexperience otherwise, though. Carmel 35, Columbus North 14. (prediction)

Columbus North got ripped 58-17 by Carmel so maybe theres more inexperience than we think

From someone in the know..........................If I had to guess, I would say it's going to be a close game. I think North and East pretty similar. They both have good, experienced quarterbacks playing behind young offensive linemen. I think North's offensive line is made up of all first-year starters. I think East has four first-year starters. Coaches -- particularly line coaches -- like to say linemen win ball games. We'll see how quickly those young men grow up.

Buford GA vs. Gainsville GA

A Friday night 7 p.m Affair on ESPN3

Now, I feel that having Buford (1-0) ranked in the top spot in Class AA is a pretty safe bet.

Anything short of a fifth straight state title for the Wolves this season would be a huge surprise, considering the abundant amount of talent in their senior class.

Then in Class AAA, Gainesville almost cracked the top 10, despite graduating 14 starters and most of the defensive firepower from last year's squad.

Gainesville High School’s football season got off to a rocky start on Friday as it dropped its opening scrimmage to St. Pius X 27-0 at City Park.

“We’ve got a long way to go,” Miller said to his team, huddled at midfield after the game. “We’ve got a long way to go and a lot of work to do.”
“We missed a lot of tackles on defense,” Miller said.

Speaking about the position battles on defense, Miller said that positions had not been decided.

“I think we’ll probably go right up until the first game before anything’s solved there,” he said.

Gainesville’s next test will be on Aug. 26 when they will face the four-time Class AA defending champion Buford Wolves.

“Buford’s a good team,” Miller said. “We’ve got a lot of holes to fill between now and then, but if I know our guys, I know we’ll rise to the occasion and keep getting better.”


Buford started its defense of the Class AA state championship in fine fashion with a season-opening 42-0 shutout of Blessed Trinity on Friday in Roswell.

The Wolves (1-0) dominated the game on the ground with 18 different ball carriers gaining a total of 277 yards.

This season, Dillon Lee will apply this physical prowess one last time for Buford, a four-time defending state champion.

In his final season at the school, he will attempt to add to an already long list of accolades. He is a four-star recruit by Scout.com, which has him as the No. 6 overall middle linebacker prospect, and has already committed to play at the University of Alabama under head coach Nick Saban.

Buford tons of senior talent, Gainsville rebuilding and struggling

Buford has a plethora of college talent besides Lee including TE Kurt Freetag (impressive offer list) and LT Vadal Alexander (even more impressive). CBs Paris Head (Vanderbilt) and C.J. Moore (Virginia) should shut down opposing receivers, while C Reid Ferguson is committed to LSU as a long snapper

Gainesville has nothing of the sort according to Rivals

I love teams that have 1 game under their belt vs teams that are opening for the first time ...... lots of kinks to work out and the biggest improvements take place from Week 1 to Week 2

Now Boiling Springs might not have had much on defense but you can't tell me that scoring 47 points can be a bad thing for a dynamic offense

Many locals are predicting a very tight game in this rivalry contest but with the Week 1 experience and slight talent edges on offense vs. defense I will be on Gaffney provided the spread is tight

Armwood FL at Bishop Gorman

Bishop Gorman is a proven commodity ..... we have seen them play Week 1 with an imposing OL, a solid running back, a mobile and accurate QB (pocket passer tho) and some nice downfield threat WRs. They took care of the ball and made smart decisions and pounded, pounded pounded away at the run to open up the pass.

On defense the D-Line is solid as well. The tackling and fundamentals look sound and the unit worked together in a team effort despite a couple sustained drives late 1st early 2Q in Wk 1.

Their stated goal is to win a national championship and they sure are playing on the national stage. However Armwood presents a different test than Scottsdale Chapparal and this one could be the National Game of the Week again.

"Their line is enormous," Callahan said. "We've got a very good offensive line, too, but theirs did an outstanding job (Saturday) night. To me, our game with them looks like a rematch between us and (2010 playoff opponent Palm Beach Gardens) Dwyer (a game the Hawks won on a last-second field goal). We've got a strong, fast team, though, and I think we can handle it."

Florida commit and Armwood's biggest offensive weapon, Matt Jones, suffered an MCL tear during a summer camp. He’ll be back in 2-3 weeks, but he’ll have to watch from the sidelines this weekend.

Armwood didn’t build their reputation on one player, and they’ll have plenty of talent on both sides of the ball this year.

BG has had these two games circled and know this one win will bring tons of national respect and 1 step closer to their goal.....also they have not lost at their new home field in 4 years, although granted Armwood is still the most talented team they have faced there

Same as the Gaffney vs Dorman game, the improvements that a team can make from Week 1 to Week 2 are immense. Gorman is on a mission for a National Championship this year and are focused. They know these 2 weeks make or break that dream. Having a game under their belt and playing at home will be a big advantage.

That said Armwood has boatloads of talent on both sides of the ball and expect this game to come down to the wire.

St Thomas Aquinas (#3 FL) at Pratville (#1 AL) at Hoover Stadium (Alabama)

To say the Pratville Lions are loaded with talent would be an understatement. High-profile recruits such as Justin Thomas (Bama), Austin Golson, DT Justin Shanks (Florida State), Laronji Vason and Gulledge supply Prattville with more playmakers on both sides of the ball than the average program.

The school has almost its entire starting lineup back from a year ago - just one of the reasons it was picked over top schools from the more traditional high school power states of Florida, Texas and California.

"We could have very easily stuck with the games we had planned, but we went out and got St. Thomas Aquinas," DuBose said. "We want the challenge, we want to prove we can do what we want to do and that's to win big football games. Hopefully, it will prepare us to get ready for the season and get us ready for our tough region play."

The storm could pose major travel problems for the Raiders football team, which will leave Ft. Lauderdale Friday morning, fly to Atlanta and then bus to Birmingham, Ala. for a walk through before a Saturday matchup with Prattville High. The game, to be held in Hoover, Ala., is Casullo's first as the team's head coach, and an itinerary re-arrangement is the last thing he wants to worry about in his preparation for a noon eastern kickoff.

Casullo said Monday that he doesn't expect problems with travel arrangements, but if they do arise because of Irene, the athletic department will improvise a new plan. That, most likely, would mean taking a bus from Ft. Lauderdale to Birmingham — a 750-mile drive that will take them directly through Prattville, Ala.

Aquinas: 
First-year coach Rocco Casullo has taken over for longtime coach George Smith, who led St. Thomas to six state titles.
Key contributors such as quarterback Jake Rudock and receivers Phillip Dorsett and Rashad Greene have graduated.
Top senior prospects: DL Jelani Hamilton (6-5, 240) has already verbally committed to Miami. RB Dami Ayoola (5-10, 195) has offers from more than a dozen programs including North Carolina, Illinois, Boston College, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Miami. LB Cole Champion (6-1, 195) and LB Tyler Drake (6-3, 215) are both receiving interest from Kentucky, Boston College and Connecticut.

Newcomers: QB Max Lescano (5-10, 185) may be a senior, but he played in limited duty behind Rudock, now at Iowa. He and junior John O'Korn are both in the hunt for the starting job, although Casullo said Monday that Lescano "is a little ahead" with "a better grasp of the offense." Casullo also expects WRs Corey Holmes (6-0, 180), Gavin Sinclair (6-1, 170), and Franklyn Richardson (6-2, 180) to step up. DL Joseph Bosa and Bryan Cox Jr. should bring plenty of energy to a talented defensive front.

 Columbus North vs Columbus East UNDER 52.5 120/100

The only time in the last 7 years this rivalry has gone over the total was last season and both teams have major personnel losses especially on the offensive lines. North has 5 new starters and East has 4. There is no surer way to stall drives than with poor line play and that immediately puts the defense ahead of the offense.

Then there is the Gunner Kiel factor. This is the highest total on the board for Week 1 and 52.5 points is a lot for HS with 12 min quarters. Kiel struggled mightily adjusting to his new WR corps completing 4 (!) passes last week. I think he must adjust to the spotlight

North gave up 56 pts last week but that was against Carmel, arguably the state's best .... this is a cross-town rivalry game and these teams know each other inside and out ... the UNDER is the play for me here

Hoover lost its leading passer, rusher and receiver from last year, and this year's quarterback, Sam Gilkin, is moving from WR to QB -- always a transition. The strength is coaching, according to Rivals, but is the high end talent at the skill positions there to move the ball?

Hoover won't play the part of juggernaut this year with just five returning starters and inexperience in several key spots. This team is still very talented, but this is the first time in awhile an objective view of the schedule yields 3-4 Fridays the Bucs could lose if they're not on their game. The pass rush from the front won't be as strong as in years past and a consistent downfield receiving threat has yet to emerge in camp.

South Panola looked talented but young in Week 1 but still --- has a Week 1 game under its belt which is a huge advantage

South Panola's famous power rushing attack was led by junior Antonio Conner, who already has received plenty of mail and phone calls from Southeastern Conference schools.

In crucial third-down situations, South Panola (1-0) let junior quarterback Tevis Flowers make some plays through the air and with his feet.

Pogue admitted he may have Conner, one of the state's top-rated juniors according to many recruiting services, a bit too much in the first 24 minutes after he suffered a slight rib injury that took him out of most offensive plays in the second half.

"He is our home run threat and a seasoned guy that calmed us down early," Pogue said. "We are going to get it to where we don't have to rely on him as much."

Indianapolis Cathedral vs. Warren Central

Central is one of the most highly regarded teams entering the season with a high national ranking (as high as #3) defending Indianapolis 5A state champs and up to 9 committed D-I prospects ..... the hype is off the charts

Cathedral is the 4A champs but expectations seem to be somewhat muted because Cathedral is nowhere to be found in the national rankings and they lost in OT Week 1 to Ben Davis HS.

This is the centerpiece game of a three game extravaganza Saturday afternoon at Warren central. The Warriors showed why they are one of the best teams in the country by stomping Merrillville 64-13 in week one. USAToday still has them rated 20th nationally, while ESPN has them 37th.

Probably the biggest surprise from Satruday was that the Ben Davis defense really won the battle handedly up front. Babb was sacked seven times and Cathedral rushed for a grand total of 39 yards. Cathedral managed only one play longer than 20 yards – a 27-yard touchdown pass from Babb to Corsaro. Not a lot of big plays Saturday for the Irish.

That one was close to being a play for me but I do believe I will just watch.............should be an excellent one

Pratville (AL) +5 vs St Thomas Aquinas

I think that the wrong team is favored here.  Pratville brings too much back from last year.  I believe that this line also incoproates the fact that St. Thomas Aquinas is a well known high school team.  I think that Pratville wins its first big out of state game.

Wrong team favored here. Pratville has the easier trip to Hoover as Aquinas could be faced with a 750 mile bus ride thanks to the Hurricane. On the field, Pratville returns nearly its entire starting lineup while Aquinas is breaking in new players at the skill positions. I was very surprised at this line and pounced at the first chance. I like Pratville to win outright here.
