Breeders Cup Classic and Mile

Aidan O'Brien sends over City of Troy who is the best horse he has ever had (his words) and while this is a different type of track, his draw isn't ideal, and he did have one total flop run, other than that he has dominated every other big race in England and Ireland and I have already made out quite well backing this horse who is a machine and if the trip and track don't adversely affect him, the 13/8 available here in Ireland is great price and you can probably get closer to 2/1 in the US where less ppl know about him. Definitely worth a sprinkle.

AOB's son Donnacha trains the 2nd favorite in the mile race Porta Fortuna who I have also made lots of money betting on and is my pick for that one but i would probably back each way (win, place or show UK term). Another Irish trained horse is favorite Notable Speech is favored and he won the only race City of Troy flopped in and is also an excellent horse with the reigning UK champion jockey. I believe it will be one of those two horses, tough to split them but I just have a soft spot for Porta Fortuna who has lived up to his name as my good luck charm.

I know this is the NCAAF forum but i reckon this is where all the Saturday gamblers are and as someone based in Ireland just wanted to give the heads up on some horses I am very familiar with.

 Any reasoning why? I know stall 3 hasn't won for a long time that concerns me, and Del Mar is a long trip from here.

If you think I'm a homer, you're not familiar with my game, son. I follow horses from UK/Ireland and America. I grew up in Philly I don't bet the eagles every week! I'm quite confident that City of Troy at his best  on home turf would beat this field with a minimum of fuss but it is a totally different type of track and running style over there.

Tbh I'd wager you're an American who gets rankled at the thought of y'all not being number one at something. Well if City wins there's a chance O'Brien will pass Baffert for most Breeder's Cup meeting wins. Hate to break it to ya, champ. Have fun voting for Trump and boycotting Bud Light!

The main issue is just if he takes to dirt which he hasn't raced on before. It's just not possible to know until the race has finished. But he is without doubt the best middle distance horse this side of the Atlantic. The horse he beat in the Juddmont, Bluestocking just won the Arc which is the biggest French race.

But the Breeder's is usually an open race and I think the Japanese champion horse Forever Young has a good chance, too, and you can't count out Sierra Leone with Flavian Prat riding.

The fact stall 3 hasn't won the race in 20+ years is not in City of Troy's favor, but low numbers in general have fared well lately. I'm hoping it's one of those stats that is just forgotten about after he goes and does it, and if any horse can do it, he can. Ryan Moore has done pretty well riding in the US, hopefully he doesn't get stuck in a pocket from that draw.

Anyway, it's pretty clear that clown knows nothing about horses. He probably doesn't even know where Aidan O'Briens record stacks up vs the big names over there in terms of Breeder's Cup winners.

If he had even basic knowledge of the sport he would know this horse is by Justify who won the triple crown.

 City of Troy attempting dirt for the first time (breeding suggests he will do well) and O'Brien being 0 for 17 in the Classic may give pause for thought. I'm going with Forever Young, had him in the Ky. Derby when he was beat two noses, after being bumped throughout stretch. GL Nuttin', looking forward to a great card today.

Played different combos of the 1, 3, and 11, including to win. Girlfriend is Irish, born in Dublin moved to the states when she was 3 so I told her about City of Troy and of course we had to bet.

You're not wrong, this could be the wrong track for City of Troy and the drift in price suggests as much while all the money is for Forever Young. My horse can be got for 4-1 which is nearly too good to be true. I knew he would drift a bit. I backed Forever Young also now as they are both good prices for great horses.

No idea what Ryan Moore was doing there. Guess that's why he's 0-26 on dirt races he doesn't know how to ride those tracks the run style is different. Unlike Flavien.

Of course Sierra Leone who I backed in the other classics and he got 2nd or 3rd now he wins (eyeroll). And just to annoy me even more an Irish horse won the previous race
