I think Utah has a top coaching staff that will be able to keep the team motivated and find a way for them to show they are the real deal, and coming off the big loss to TCU...I see this as even more motivation.

If Utah would of lost a close game last week, then I could see them coming out flat. Being embarrassed, leaves a bad bad taste in your mouth. No let down here. Notre Dame is diminished by injuries. Their defense gives up a ton on the ground, and that is just where Utah likes to hurt you. Notre Dame still has the death of a student employee hanging over their heads as well. That team is a mess. If Utah getting beat by TCU means they come out flat, then what do you think Notre Dame getting beat by Tulsa means. Notre Dame is an absolute mess. If they had their starters then this would be a game. No Crist, Allen, and Rudolph all out. Even Michael Floyd is nursing a hamstring problem.

Both starting QB's are out, and Miami has been playing well defensively. GTech's QB was the main part of their offense, and they cannot do anything but run.

Why would you buy it down if you think they win by 11?
Re the lack of line movement-I wanted to hammer TN last week vs Memphis. Line didn't budge with > 80% on TN so I stayed away. They beat the tar out of em anyway. Hence,is this a reliable thing to consider ?

Yeah, why wouldn't I just lay 10.5?
In football betting, 3 points is very key. Why would I risk getting screwed by a point or two when I can buy it at this very key number. I think they win by 11, but then again I'm not God.

1) Utah has historically performed very well after a loss in recent years...
2) the "Bubble Burst" argument applies to teams that lost when they were expected to win... not when they lose as a dog...
3) this line opened up at Utah (-3.5)... most people are unaware of this because they look only where 1 book opened the line, but the first line opened up at the Wynn in Las Vegas was (-3.5), and other books followed suit opening the line around 4... it was immediately bet up to 5.5 or 6 where it has frozen...
4) the statement that ND has done well as a dog is a farce... and i am the one who says ND games are easy to cap... always bet the dog... but there is an exception to the rule... when ND steps up in class (from the Mich St, Pitt level to the USC, Stanford level) they do not fare well... i did a recent search and found it has been 5 years since they came within a TD of a bonafide top 15 caliber opponent... this is why the blind bet against ND is one of the best bets in sports when they reach a BCS bowl...
does Utah fit into that realm, with the USCs and Stanfords, or are they more in the Michigan and Michigan St realm? probably somewhere in between... but the fact that ND is now an injury-riddled mediocre team... i just don't see how you can make a case for ND...
put it this way... if Utah doesn't come out flat, and wants to win this game, your best case scenario is about a 35 point Utah win... if Utah has a letdown, and doesn't take this seriously, your worst case scenario is a 3 or 4 point loss, where they are in the game until the final minute...
