What are the limits on gifts student-athletes can receive?

PARTICIPATION

•Annual Participation: Institution may give awards valued at up to $225/sport (underclassmen); and awards valued at up to $425/sport (seniors).

•Postseason conference championship or tournament: Institution and event managers may give a COMBINED total of awards valued at up to $375.

•Postseason NCAA championship or tournament: Institution may give awards valued at up to $375; there is no limit for what the NCAA may give.

•All-star game or bowl: Institution may give awards valued at up to $400. Event Management may give awards valued at up to $550.

•Other established meets, tournaments: Institution and event management may give a COMBINED total of awards valued at up to $400.

CHAMPIONSHIP

•NCAA National Championship: Institution and conference may each give awards valued at up to $415 per each championship conducted by the NCAA.

•Non-NCAA National Championship: same as above.

•Regular season conference champs: Institution and conference may each give awards valued at up to $325. (NOTE: If same team wins regular season and tournament, the combined total shall not exceed awards valued at up to $325).

•Postseason conference champs: Institution and conference may each give awards valued at up to $325. (NOTE: If same team wins regular season and tournament, the combined total shall not exceed awards valued at up to $325).

Can student-athletes receive cash?

Awards may not include cash, gift certificates, gift cards that are redeemable for cash (original amount or any balance thereof), a cash-equivalent award (an item that is negotiable for cash or trade or other services, benefits or merchandise) for athletics participation, or a country club or sports club membership.

If you try and say something like this thread on ESPN.com and they will ban you, for 24 hours.....more than one infraction...indefinatedly.....especially colinking Covers forum!!

What i want for College football

1) Non confernce games in between the power conferences

2) A way for NCAAF players to live comfortably

3) A NCAAF rulebook that is revampled and makes sense

4) A non partisan committee to decide Final Four (Not ESPN, Like it is now and $$interests)

There is way too much coincidence for it not to be corrupt!!

While all SEC schools may do it, you are naive if you think all SEC schools do it on the same scale as Alabama.  17 of 20 years on probation speaks volumes.  yet, when Saban comes to town...despite all the photo evidence available, as Cappers007 has shown evidence, the head gets turned the other way.  It's a tragedy what they do out of T-Town.

Also note, they probably are not doing anything now.  Once you have the machine running like it is now, you can get whatever recruits you need.  But, be not fooled, to get from Shula days to where Saban got them in that short time, the REC was willing to do about anything... and they were allowed to do so.

I ask this one question and I'll hang up and listen.  if coming off of 17 of 20 years on probation you win 2 of the last 3 national titles and a possible 3 of the last 4 national titles, were you truly punished for anything?  Note, Alabama was on probation in '09 when they won that title.  Most of what Cappers007 is referring to occurred while Bama was on probation.

 i know alot of teams have rogue boosters who pay players...but dont have agents and NFL scouts all over...thats why all these kids sign with Bama....the boosters dont hurt the program thats for sure., ask bear bryant and Nick saban (bet he is glad to be friends with Emmert!!
