9-0 illinois, 12th best team in the country....catching 12!!?!??!?!
12!?!?!?!?!?!
i wish i saw this line earlier....wtf is wrong with these oddsmakers lately.
Vegas is putting local bookies out of business, players have been cleaning up on these lopsided spreads today.
I saw West Virginia -8 earlier against an undefeated Va tech team that has been playing extremely well, and thought to myself....this has to be a trap? a fix? or the easiest bet of all time.
same goes with this gonzaga game....no value in illinois 2nd half, but im still really tempted to take it.

There are 2 halves to CBB. I am with you.....#10 vs #13 -11.5 spread on the open. Dug deeper and Illimois has had a very weak schedule. They will not be able to keep up with the Zags 2nd half as there aren't many tougher places to play on the road and the Zags are going to turn the ball over a lot less than they did in that 1st half with more focused play.

cantor gaming, who is setting the opening lines these days for 90% of the shops, has all but taken the human element out of oddsmaking and is employing a next-gen algorithm to set #s. this algo weights the rec player at approx 55%. doubt me if u wish but sharp situational cappers are killing it right now for a reason.

would you have wanted to bet this game if it was gonzaga -4 ??????
books gave themselves insurance with the -11.5 knowing people out there will take the ZAGS
books gave themselves insurance?? lol
are you high? dumb? or just slow?
do you understand that the entire world was on Illinois in this game?
Do you understand that books desperately needed gonzaga to cover 11.5?
if they wanted insurance, to try to even out the action....the line would have moved down from 11.5 instead of going up to 12. The oddsmakers took a gamble with this game, and they lost. They failed miserably.
because this line was soo off/inflated do you understand what this did to the money line? Do you know how many people looked the ML of illinois and saw +500 and said "wow that is insane value on the 12th best team in the country"
not only did illinois cover the 1st half, the 2nd half, and the entire game.....but they also covered the ML as well.

I disagree…As rambled as his thoughts were, there was some merit to his statement…The Wise Men in Vegas knew the Illini was going to win this game…Created the illusion the Zags were the play for overthinkers like me…
.......
if the wise men in vegas knew illinois was going to win, why not set the line at -4.5....let the world bet on gonzaga.....and collect about 100 million dollars?
instead youre saying they gave 12 points to the 12th rank team, to create the illusion that gonzaga was going to blow them out? To fool a few over thinkers? while 85% of the betting population was on illinois catching double digits, and giving illinois a ML price of +500???
uhhhhhh....
unless the "overthinkers" were betting 10 million each, im pretty sure books got smoked on this game.
