Waiting for someone to defend Butler as a play....

-25 game win streak

-only 1 time in the last 13 games has Butler allowed 60 or more, Duke will get their but don't see much more than 60 therefore +7 is alot

-Home Crowd can't hurt

-In my Opinion they have the best player in the game (Heyward)

this is just my opinion...kansas st better than duke....cuse better than duke....ohio st better than duke.....all teams butler has beaten.

although duke is playing their best ball of the year.

ill take the points as long as all the boys are playing tonight.....

"[Mack and Nored] played the best team defense of any tandem I have coached against in the last decade" -Jim Boeheim.  Thats a damn good defense of Butler.  Now this should cause problems for Duke on offense...but the big question here is how on earth is Butler going to score in this matchup.  This is the best defense they will face all year, and one of the tallest teams in the nation.  In my opinion, they'll spread it out like the Wisconsin Badgers and work a swing offense that really pokes for holes and should free up Howard inside for some one on one with Zoubek, if not Hayward, Mack, and Nored for penetration.  They NEED to get fouled, this is a crucial part of their offense (and why they beat Michigan St).  It can be a crippling reliance if you don't get the calls, but I am refusing to believe the last 5 games are a better indicator of the entire season...Zoubek and the Plumlee brothers get WAAAAYYY too crazy on defense and are prone to foul (all over 6.0 FC/40min on kenpom).  This is a reason for Duke's road troubles, the crowd can get in these guys' heads (Zoubek 14 min @ NC St, 20 min @ Ga Tech, Plumlee's both in foul trouble @ Gtown with Zoubek out).  Other than that, all i got is the last time Duke played a bulldog mascot they got TROUNED...SO GET LOUD INDY, THE BULLDOGS NEED YOU!

Duke gets 3pt shots off dribble penetration & kick-out passes.  They get 3pt shots off offensive rebounds.  They will not make 12 3pt shots like they did the other night.  But, Butler's defense feeds right into what Duke does on offense.  Butler cant score enough to cover the number.  Late Duke FTs give Duke the DD win.

I appreciate everyone's insight on the Butler play... having surfed the boards for two days, there hadn't been a lot of discussion about it and I'm glad people backing Butler can feel more confident in their decisions.

I've seen everything from people playing Duke -5.5 to Butler +8... there's a middle ground for a lot of us to win, and I hope we all rake in some cash.

Should be a great game in general and best of luck to all bettors.

Can I for analysis of how Zoubek and the Plumlee brothers have shown mental lapses on the road?  But if we are strictly speaking March, Duke hasn't played a team in the top 100 in FTA/FGA all tournament.  Or we can talk about Thomas and Zoubek being in foul trouble against Ga Tech in the ACC Chip game.

the only way Duke covers this number is if the "homer" refs give coach K and his boys all the calls which i think will happen. they dont want the Giant of college basketball ie DUKE to fall to a lowly mid major named Butler. dont be surprised to see duke shooting 1 and 1 fairly early on in the game . i think this is how the game goes but im still putting my money on Butler in the hopes the refs call a fair game!!!!!!!!!!!

If Duke is going to cover, it will mean another A+ game for them, or a sub par Butler game. The only reason Mich St was close, was because Mack was hurtin 2nd half. He is the reason offense ticks. If he was healthy, its a 10 pt+ Butler win. You think this line would still be 7 if that were the case? Butler not likely to follow worst tourney outing with 2nd worse. Its still a gamble with either side. Who shows up, who is hot from 3pt line, who gets in foul trouble, etc. Butler +7 is the right bet, hopefully at the right time!  GO BULLDOGS!!! BOL to both sides.

Not to mention Izzo's comment that he's never had a team beaten as bad physically as his team by Butler.

Wonder what Izzo said when their team got beat by UNC last year. Butler is overrated imho. Their 11 min. scoring drought last game was terrible.

-#1 seeds that have matched up with a lesser seed in the semifinals and final game have gone 13-4 SU & ATS (76.5%) over the L12 years. When favored by less than 8-points in such games, they were 10-2 SU & ATS (83.3%).

-In the championship game, only two underdogs have won SU and/or ATS this decade (2-8, 22%), Syracuse (over Kansas in ’03), and Kansas (over Memphis in ’08)
