The feeling here is Villanova played a much tougher schedule playing in the Big East against such competition like St John’s & Connecticut
Utah State lost their last 3 road games to close out the regular season and doesn’t possess, in my opinion, what causes Villanova issues, namely Size
Villanova has issues against bigger physical teams and Utah State’s main rotation has but one guy 6’10”, so I like Villanova’s senior center Duke Brennon to have success down low.
Also, I like the fact that Nova comes into this game with a chip on their shoulders after playing a subpar game last time out against a surging Georgetown team losing by 14 where the Wildcats we’re looking past the Hoyas towards a rematch against a Connecticut team.
Finally, I believe coaching really comes into play during the tournament and Villanova head coach Kevin Willard just had a nice run last year having Maryland playing above their heads.
All of this could mean diddly-squat but I will ride with Nova here

Villanova has missed playing in the tournament for the past 4 years playing under a joke of a head coach in Kyle Neptune (he killed this program) so I expect a motivated game here from the boys from the Main Line

Willard is back in the comfort of the Big East and I agree, Nova will be out to remove the stench of Kyle's buffoon' Neptune.
The networks were running some 'great moments' in tourney history so of course they showed a little of 85 and alot of 2016, when I watching from a suite at NRG eating Chicken Wings and drinking Shiner Bock in the best game I've ever been at live as a fan.

Nova caught my eye several times this season… however the did fail late against the better teams… ask me how I know…. Saw Utah st 2x… they did impress me…. Utah st was crushed opening game in tourney last year…. Tough game to predict… I chose Ohio st and Carolina yesterday. So I still suck. Both failed down the stretch. Good luck sir. I lean nova.. if not for looking at last years opening scores.

Willard wants a win here for recruiting purposes. Step one was getting back in the tournament, step two involves creating a want for players to come here. This will go a long way in accomplishing that
Have to believe he’ll have them ready to go

Fade the Big East. Overrated. The metrics for Utah State favors them in every way. St John’s could lose today also.
St John's won't lose today, but I think Villanova will. The Big East isn't as strong as in past season. And Utah State played a tougher schedule than some think. Everyone back east thinks the Mountain West is weak, as evidenced by the 8th best teams in the P5 conferences that made it into the dance.
