1*Charleston Southern Buccaneers +6.5
Winthrop just lost their biggest game of the year against High Point, and have now locked in the two seed for the Big South tournament. The Bucs however, are trying to avoid finishing in the bottom two, and having to play in the play-in game for the conference tourney. So quite a bit of motivation for the dog, and really none for the favorite. Charleston played the Eagles to a four point game in Rock Hill earlier in the year, so they know they can hang.
1* Liberty/Kennesaw St Over 153.5
Libertys offense plays at a slow pace, but their efficiency makes up for their lack of tempo. They are the most efficient offense in the CUSA. They shoot the 3 very well, and they make their free throws. Kennesaws interior defense is outstanding, but Liberty shares the ball so well, and shoots so effectively from outside, that it should negate that aspect. The Flames shot nearly 60% from 2 in the first meeting. Libertys defense though, leaves a bit to be desired. They don't defend the three point line well, and they don't finish possessions with defensive rebounds as often as they should. KSU thrives on the offensive glass, and should get multiple second chances.
1*Elon/Towson Under 143.5
Towsons defense is still really good. And their offense is still really bad. The first meeting played to a 131 total in a 13 point Elon win. Towson hasn't played a game to 144 since January, and while Elon has played in some high scoring affairs, they are against teams that push the tempo. The Tigers do NOT do that. At all. 339th slowest team in the country. Yes, Elons defense is hot garbage, but Towson just can't put the ball in the bucket.
1* FGCU/North Florida Over 159.5
The first game went to 171. I expect something similar. The Ospreys stop absolutely no one. There is only one team in the entire country that is less effective on the defensive end than North Florida, which is Bellarmine. Their offense however, when they don't turn the ball over, knows how to score, and FGCU isn't going to do a whole lot to try and stop them. They've gotten better as the year has gone on, but they can't catch Lipscomb for the 4 seed, so I don't know what kind of motivation they'll have.
1* North Carolina A&T Aggies +12.5
Wilmington has won 5 straight, and 7 of 8, but only one of those covers this number. They have the conference championship game on deck with Charleston (giving the Cougs hold onto their lead @ Hampton) which is also their Senior Night for 5 guys that play large roles, so they may not even know the Aggies are in the town tonight. A&T has won two of their last three, so haven't given up fighting for each other. They can keep this game in the single digits, I just hope they do.
