Finished off a decent day with a timberwolves and mizz money line parlay
Only one college basketball line sticks out to me. Northwestern/Illinois total of 130???!! Please someone convince me to not bet 10+ units on this? Northwestern attemps approx. 20 3's a game. They don't shoot as well away from home and Illinois slows the tempo down. The only way I see this going over is 1) OT or 2) Wildcats hit 10+ 3's. The wildcats PPG in the big 10 almost come from 40% of 3's.
Illinois has scored in the 70s twice in the big 10. Once was in OT (they scored 72) and the other was Pauls fluke game against Ohio St.
I also noticed that Northwesters Over/Under totals have been fairly high and have gone under quite a bit (the games they don't hit their 3's) Illinois hasn't had any big 10 games over/under totals in the 130s execept for their first game against the Wildcats (57-56)
So I really think this game comes down to 3 point shooting by the wildcats and out of 10 times, how many times do you think they will shoot above 40% on the road in the big 10 (where they haven't done as good as one would expect) against a team that plays good D and slows down the game?
I gotta go Under and if this line goes up tomorrow, then I will retire from capping haha I just can't see what Vegas sees in this and I'm assuming there will be a bunch of public action on the under.
Sorry for the repetitive rant about this game
Oh and already have prop bets in and I put the Giants in +3 a week ago but most likely will put a sizeable bet on the Patriots ML before kickoff tomorrow. Reasoning? None whatsoever. I think the Giants are better at every position except QB and coach but Vegas isn't stupid. They will make money if Pats win and cover. Plus the Pats get to use the us against the world mentality which seems to be big in sports. BOL all

I'm on the NU/Ill Under too, I don't know where the 130 came from. This total should be about 122 or so, which is very scary
Yea I still don't understand how they came up with this number. The scary part is that I haven't see the number drop yet....Hopefully that is because everyone is focused on the big game today

well at least my analysis was right....if they hit 10+ 3s, its going over. They have hit 5 in the first 8 minutes.....what a joke. I thought illinois was supposed to have a good student section. The stadium is half empty

Wow these first half numbers make me sick. Illinois shoots 60% and northwestern shoots 55% and they combine for 11 pointers made. Illinois I believe has the 2nd worst 3% in big 10???!!
Even with those staggering numbers, the total was 69...I have to hope for a 60 in the 2nd half which is unlikely with fouls if its a close game
