Kevin Willard wanted size this offseason, and he cashed in. Freshman Euro Luigi Suigo should be an immediate difference maker at 7’3”, along with Kwame Evans Jr from Oregon they could make quite the front court. Tyler Perkins is back and should only improve on a very good junior year. The Irish weren’t very good last year, and they lost their best player. I don’t have a ton of faith in Micah Shrewberry as a coach. They found a good PG in the portal, and that should serve them well eventually, but this Irish team is picked to finish 15th or so in a VERY weak ACC. Gonna be a long year in South Bend.

There is a pretty large gap in talent levels between these two. High Point returns Cam’ron Fletcher, who at one point was a highly touted recruit at Kentucky and Florida State, but couldn’t stay out of trouble. they bring in Jason Rivera Torres from Monmouth and he’s probably the best transfer to come into this league this year. Lastly, they brought in CJ Brown from South Florida to run the show. liberty is gonna be good, but it takes time to learn McKay‘s offense cause it’s based on timing and his whole roster is brand new. He lost a ton from last year’s team so it’s gonna take this team time to really figure out roles, and where to be on this nontraditional defense that McKay likes to play.
