heading out for drinks, but ill say right now that i'm probably getting on eastern washington and rider later. guessing that rider line wont be posted for a while cause albany's leading scorer might be out w/ shingles. but they're still without their #2 and #4 scorers no matter what due to knee injury, and they albany has only beaten 1 team in the KenPom top 275 all season anyway. and those 3 players all haven't missed more than 1 game all season. rider's inconsistent as hell but the maac still shits on the aec 7 days a week
probably playing Houston, but i think it can get to 10. probably playing uconn 1h

this is a pretty surface-level reason...but...they're better. all but 1 of their losses come to kenpom top 100 teams, and all of their losses come to teams better than St. John's. they match up well. st john's is still terribly young and they use a 6-man rotation and their coach won't even be on the sideline, he'll be in a luxury box again (recovering from prostate cancer). they've lost 9 of their last 11 and just can't hang around in the 2nd half of games. they're 4 and 10 in conference and 2 of those wins come to depaul and providence. in 3 of their past 4 losses they've gotten beaten by 20+ points, and 2 of those were at home. they stink.
that being said, UCLA's a little banged up, and they've only won 2 road game this year. but 3 of the 5 that they lost were 1 possession games, and they're going to be excited to play in the garden. always a concern with time-zone issues, but i dont mind.

Neither of these teams are going to go down easy. This will be a hard-fought, slow-paced, defensive battle on both ends, and I think it comes down to the wire. Aside from the William & Mary look-ahead/scare, Drexel has been so solid and so consistent and so complete in every game I've watched them in. Just a very experienced team flourishing right now, still trying to prove to the selection committee that they deserve the school's first bid to March in 16 years.
Cleveland State will want this win too; they're fighting for relevance, and dropping 3 straight has been devastating for them. But they're hurt and they're struggling; D'Aundray Brown (10 PPG) won't play again. He's only missed 3 games all season, and 2 of those were the games the Vikes lost. And rumors are floating around that Harmon and Brown aren't in optimal health either.
Love Drexel's experience, physicality, and just overall toughness; although they had a pretty soft CAA schedule, it's still an awesome mid-major conference, and they've won 21 of their last 22 games for a reason. I like them to win, but 3 points in a game like this hold tremendous value.

tough game to cap IMO. no idea how either of these teams comes out today. long beach hasn't seen true competition in all of conference play, so they might be a little flat, and playing AT creighton, the most efficient offense in the country, might catch them a little off guard and dig them deep early on. but i doubt it...long beach can ball, and they know the implications of this game. i just don't know the true identity of this creighton team so i'm passing, but i think you're on the right side. i dont think LBSU will go down easy

little rock turned out to be good after all, after that really tough non-conference schedule. they really need to lock down and win this easy game to secure their spot as the leader of the Sun Belt West, because the last 2 games aren't going to be easy...north texas and arkansas state will be out to avenge losses that were by 1 possession on their home courts. denver trails them by 2 games, and will absolutely win the last 2 games, so basically if little rock wins this one they secure their spot as winner of sun belt west
but yeah...LR has gone 10-3 in conference play, and heading to 3-10 troy should result in a win. Troy is in complete rebuilding mode this year and has been changing up their rotation and style of play and everything just to find something that they can build upon in the future. They only have 7 D1 wins this year, and only 1 of those is to a team that is ranked "better" than little rock on KenPom. they've lost 11 of their last 14, and they cant score or play defense
troy lives and dies, and usually dies, by the three ball, despite being awful at 3-point shooting. LR is fairly efficient at defending it, and they have tall guards and are #82 in the country at effective height. troy has the home-court advantage in this game, but nothing else
