PLAY STUPID TEASERS AT YOU OWN RISK

I am not the greatest capper, but do spend a lot of time on it.  I follow a bunch of great cappers here on Covers.  I take in all the different leans from the great ones, (UNC, Swizzol, KGC, Estes, EX4, Oddsbuster, Teaser78, CAnsie, KVegas,Pineapple and Pit Viper, among others), I put your guys picks with my own leans and Line Out My Bets.

Had a great year in Football, a good year Basket Ball, until the last week or so.  Then Oddsbuster mentioned a 3-team 8 point Teaser. So I took a look at this insane bet. Yesterday I went 1-1 on 2 teasers. Lost the one on the Portland beat-down by Zaga.

But here is something interesting. Of the 18 games I lined for play, the teaser record for the individual teams was 17-1.  Of the 17 individual winners 8 needed the tease to win!  Now, 18 teams means 6 Teaser Bets. Thus the results would have been 5-1  Risk $720 to win $600. Result net $380. 

Now if I reverse every Tease. That is bet the other side of each game. The record for each individual team would be 12-6, with 9 of the 12 winners needing the Tease. Now obviously with 6 3-team Teasers, each one could have had a loser in it. Bad news.

Clearly Capping the right side is key. Here are the games.

I only do 4 team 10 point teasers Im trying to work something out to see if it works .... Ive its been ok .... but I havent follow the rules to the tee.  Now work those numbers out with 10 points see if they come out the same ... I like teasers it a personal choice.

I need to start winning on my straight bets. lol

I have been doing mostly teasers almost exclusively in basketball these past two months and have earned almost $30,000.  I've been betting basketball and football for the better part of 7 years and have never been as successful as I have this year in the past two months.

I follow a couple rules that have allowed me to fine tune the games I pick out.

1.  Never cross ZERO in a teaser----You lose a point of value (IE. Zero) when you do this. because the game can never land on ZERO

2.  I only bet 5 or 5.5 point 2 team teasers---which one I pick depends on whether I can make my final number land on a full number (IE. not the half point)  I like it to land on a real number because I have the chance if the other part of my teaser loses of getting a push if the other game lands right on the number (I've had this happen a few times over the past several years).  It's important to make sure your book offers a refund of the wager if one of the two games push.  Not all books do this.  Some only do this if the other half wins.

3.  I like to pick favorites that are in the 5-8 point range favorite that I actually like because then I get the favorite in the range of 1,2, or at worst 3 which means I'm the favorite in a one possession situation to win the game

4.  When choosing dogs, I like to choose dogs in College basketball that are in the +6 to +9 range because I've found in college basketball that generally speaking if a dog is losing they will foul to catch up all the way to the number 12 or 13 down.  Usually they quit fouling past this point but not alway.  In NBA, it is much more predictable.  Most NBA teams stop fouling to catch up around the number 7 so if you can tease a dog that you like to better than 7 points than you have a play.

5. Never ask a bad team to do anything.  In college basketball, if you have two bad teams playing each other then I just move on to the next game.

6.  Their are certain conferences in the NCAA that there is no rhyme or reason to that I have been burned by so often in the past that I just stay away from (IE.  Don't tease a favorite down in the ACC only look to play dogs, I don't play the Big West, MAC, OVC and especially not the Sun Belt).  These four conferences have burned me more often then not when trying this formula.

Forgot to mention that one of my biggest teaser plays in the past month went on Wednesday night this past week.  I absolutely loved Charlotte at -7 against George Washington and UAB at +8 against Memphis that night.

As you recall, both games would have been straight up losers but both came through on my teaser card.
