Stealing some info from DaRaiders in another thread, since 1997, no team that has won a double OT game in the tourney has won the next game on only 1 day rest. I think he said it was 5-0, love that stat but even independently of that, Butler is such a disciplined squad that I think they can hang with KSU, who are nothing if inconsistent. One of my biggest losses of the year was on the Butler/UCLA game in the non-conference season when Butler went like 2-19 from 3 and only won by 4 or 5 or so, so beware when I like Butler, I got a bad track record with them.
Love Kentucky in this spot, they seem on a mission. They might end up being the UNC of last year who just blows everyone out of the water. A little worried that they haven't played a close game yet, and their free throw situation is always nerve wracking, but I don't see them being in a close enough game today.
Also leaning UNDER in the Kentucky game, I think we see some good defense today.

Taking your overtime stat one step further:
Teams in the NCAA tournament that are off an overtime game and have
three or less days off since that game (anything more would eliminate
the emotional and fatigue factor) are 24-39 ATS their next game out. It
has actually happened three times this year so far and those teams --
Wake Forest, Villanova, and BYU -- are 0-3 ATS.

"As soon as Kansas State-Xavier went into double OT on Thursday night I got this e-mail from Sal at MadduxSports.com: "Here is your interesting stat for Saturday's games since K State just went into double OT and I know you are wondering: Teams in the NCAA tournament that are off an overtime game and have three or less days off since that game (anything more would eliminate the emotional and fatigue factor) are 24-39 ATS their next game out. That stat is understandable given the quick turnaround and lack of time for preparation. In Kentucky's case I haven't locked the game in yet, but I'm really starting to think that the UNDER might be the better play. Both teams are good on the glass and recognize the importance of controlling the defensive boards and eliminating extra possessions for the other team by keeping them off the offensive glass. Add in Kentucky's FT shooting woes and it could count for at least 5-6 extra points, you know? WVU 1-3-1 zone is something that is very, very tough to prepare for in one day. As long as the turnovers are kept low, this should be a game that goes under.
Adding:
Kentucky/West VirginiaUNDER 132.5

Great stat, KP and special_k.
