Kenpom Calculator (Score Projections)

Alot of you know about Kenpom's Fanmatch, which predicts the score for each day's slate of games. It is extremely accurate when it comes to projecting the actual spreads put out by Vegas.

I was able to create a program that contains his formula he uses to predict scores. This allows me to plug in any two teams and also plug in whether one of the teams is at home (or otherwise a neutral court game) and then spits out what Kenpom's score would be.

If anyone is interested in a particular matchup to gauge what the spread would approximately be, just list the matchup and which team is home or if you want a neutral court projection. Just throwing it out there for anyone who may be interested.

Assuming second team is home:

Guys, once again, any current day's slate of games is available at Kenpom.com (https://kenpom.com/fanmatch.php)

This is for hypothetical matchups (like Kansas vs. Duke)... or if you would want to know an approximate spread for a potential NCAA tournament matchup (say, Tennessee vs. UCLA in an 8-9 game for example)

It equals the % chance that team has of winning the game straight-up.

Looking at Lunardi's latest bracketology (https://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology) here are a couple interesting spreads:

#7 George Mason over #10 Michigan St. (67-64)

Curious how the general public would react if Vegas opened GMU -3 vs. MSU. Would think they would pound MSU, even with the lackluster season the Spartans have had. I would think Vegas would anticipate this and bait them with a GMU -1 or even PK line.

#13 Belmont over #4 St. John's (69-68)

This one is real interesting. Both Kenpom and Sagarin are extremely high on Belmont and Kenpom actually has Belmont winning this matchup right now by 1. I would think due to public perception that this line would open at St. John's -3, but I think the play would be Belmont.
