1-0 on Monday ... getting one in early for Tuesday:
U-Mass Minutemen -2.5: It's now or never for U-Mass. Losers of 6 straight - most in heartbreaking fashion - the regular season finale at Amherst, Mass against Ohio is an absolute must-have. Few teams have had horrible late-game luck as UMass, as they've lost all 4 of their OT games and 3 other MAAC games by 3 points or less. That includes an 86-84 loss to undefeated Miami-Ohio Jan. 27 and an 86-83 loss at Ohio back in early-January. They also battled hard in a loss at Akron. Sadly for the Minutemen, they are a half game behind Buffalo and Central Michigan for the last 2 berths to the conference tournament. Alas, a loss tomorrow would pretty much end their season. A win, however, gives them a realistic chance, especially since C-Mich plays Akron tomorrow in their second to last game, before they finish up on the road against Ball State. U-Mass is IMHO -- on paper -- a better team than Buffalo or C-Michigan, with some real good bigs and a solid PG in Marcus Banks, and I definitely think at home they can handle an Ohio team that has already locked down a tournament berth, and aside from either moving up one spot or down one spot, don't have much to play for. Going a big 1 unit on this one.
Probably have a few more plays tomorrow ...

IPFW +6.5: Green Bay under Gottlieb has been a real nice story, but it's a team that really lacks depth. Fort Wayne (11-9) to me is a team that has kind of underachieved this season, yet they only finished a game behind Green Bay (12-8). IPFW is loaded in the backcourt led by Horizon scoring leader Corey Hadnot II and fellow guards Mikale Stevenson and DeAndre Craig Jr. are also capable of going off. 6.5 points is a lot in an elimination game, even with it being played in Green Bay. Green Bay won the two regular season meetings and it's never easy to beat the same team 3 times. 0.5 units.

UCLA +1: Was really impressed with their thrilling comeback home win against Illinois, Dent finally playing like he is capable, man that kid can move and can light it up when he gets on a heater. Getting Skyy Clark back has also been a boost. Disappointing loss at Minnesota, but I think the Bruins get back on the rails at the old PP. Nebraska off a win at USC, but not many teams have completed the western sweep. 0.5 units.

Brutal. When I lose it's usually because of something stupid, like when Monmouth misses all those free throws against Towson. Oh well, won my big play and still got a shot with UCLA. It sucks though.

Not as sure as I was about UMass, but UCLA is always a tough out at home, and like them coming off a bad loss. No question, Nebraska is very good. Should be a good close game.

UCLA rolls Nebraska from start to finish. 2-1, +1 unit on the night, but really felt like we got burned in the last seconds of the IPFW game. But overall, can't really complain. Hopefully keep the good times rolling tomorrow... Good luck to everyone on your plays!
