It was in the paper this morning where one of the Maryland players was lamenting how they were 0-2 in conference and are seeking to open up a can on WF.   FYI...

I have this really weird fascination with the makeup of Nebraska's squad. They defend just about as good as any team in the country combined with slow style of play. Tough to gauge that with the exact opposite style with Missouri and try to see what happens, but I'd put the value on Nebraska in that spot. First road game for NEB turned me off.

Both St. John's and Georgetown I really saw no value in playing or going against. A few possessions could decide both of those games. I feel you're safe with A&M if you've been reading my thoughts on Oklahoma State. Probably opposite of you on UNLV, but I've pegged them wrong a few times this year. I'm probably one of the few people that think SDSTU is actually deserving of their top 10 status. No clue on Vandy, they've been playing some pretty fast games recently, and the tempo in this one should slow down immensely, which they haven't had the opportunity to do much this year against good defenses (and they're losses have come against top defensive squads)

Nope, Monday/Tuesday games were light so I looked ahead. Like Thursday's card ALOT.

Think they're the better team. Being 4-0 in the conference going against a nobody with Old Dominion coming to town Saturday would scare the piss outta me. Shouldn't really be afraid of Towson's defense (pitiful), unless the shot they depend on the most isn't falling, which is the three-ball.

You really think G-Town is #2 in the big east. I understand your rankings are done before the season , but do you still feel Georgetown is #2 in the Big East? I just dont feel that way because they contuiniuosly underperform imo.

Great stuff as always, got a little extra treat today and your lookaheads to sat ect really stick with me when it gets to saturday. Awesome stuff.

Seems like McNight has been there a while. If I was to re-generate my Big East, Georgetown would probably still be top 4 w/ Syracuse/Nova/Pitt. I might still leave them at #2 though. They're getting worn down it seems like lately. No other team in the Big East (maybe WVU) went out and scheduled like Georgetown did coming into this year. They went balls out: ODU, Wofford, NC State, Mizzou, Utah State, Temple, Appy State, and Memphis. And that was before they started conference play. They should be at or near the top 4 in the standings by end of the year, but the real value on this team will more than likely be in the tourney with a decent draw. They've played about every kind of style of basketball present in the country, so they're prepared. Big East is just a grind, and they're a veteran squad that should be able to overcome it. Syracuse's inexperience and away schedule in the Big East played a big part in it as well.

They've played about every kind of style of basketball present in the country, so they're prepared. Big East is just a grind, and they're a veteran squad that should be able to overcome it. Syracuse's inexperience and away schedule in the Big East played a big part in it as well.

Very possible. Could backfire with the amount of fresh/soph getting action thrown into a pressure situation.

Athletic, Good Scorer, and Good Rebounder, but a headcase. Definately replaceable though in this system, which is the primary reason he didn't like it and transferred. They were the shortest team in the country last year and still had one of the better defenses and rebounding squads in the conference. They brought in some JUCO talent big men, and it's helped their defense tremendously. Biggest reason I'm intrigued is b/c a majority of the minutes are coming from sophomores who saw much experience as freshman. Should see a big improvement this year, just not sure it comes in the first true road game of the year. Sadler's teams are built on a system, players 1-15 can step in and contribute.

nropp I haven't been in your threads long enough to know your strong suits, etc. but it's easy to tell that you know your stuff. I'm more of a totals guy myself when it comes to college hoops as i feel it's usually a much safer way to bet b-ball and rely on numbers, percentages, etc. as opposed to hoping "your team" shows up on any given night. I've been in way too many situations that came down to a missed free throw or a bogus foul with time winding down to kill my cover and it can be tremendously heartbreaking at times.

Anyway, the reason i decided to post is because i feel very strongly about two overs tonight and wanted to get your opinion on them (if you have one) because i really respect what your doing in this forum. The first is LOU/NOVA @ 148.5 and the only thing that scares me about this is the big # but both teams play at a good pace and have good ppp #'s along with the fact that last year's game ended with a total of 176. The other one is PIT/G'TOWN which recently dropped a little to 140 from 141. Same reasoning as the last one along with the fact that i can see G'town giving a great effort tonight after their last home showing against WVU. Plus PIT has the best ppp #'s in the big east so far. Last year the total ended up right at this current # of 140 @ PIT but it looks like the panthers didn't bring their "A" game that night.

I know your probably real busy, but if you can find the time i'd really appreciate your input on either one of these games as i'm getting ready to make a rather large play on one or both of these overs and i guess i might be looking for someone that i respect in this forum to "talk me off the cliff"

    Thanks in advance

Finally can chime in on a topic with Nebraska.
First true road game is definitely a tough task for Nebraska.  3 new players playing significant minutes (Beranak, Walker, Almeida) will experience a hostile crowd for first time,
Brandon Richardson sat out last game with a knee injury but is expected back tonight, then best 3 point shooter Bear Jones is questionable if he will make it following funeral in Indiana.

Defense has been surprisingly good this season...might credit to some weaker opponents but playing well together and rebounding much better but again taller more athletic team will be tough test.
It was actually two seasons ago when they were the smallest team in country.  Doc tried playing some zone early in the year and it was god-awful.  Back to his butter of Man to man and doubling the post.

I was a big Standhardinger fan coming into the year but since he left the team is a better team and it shows.  He was a scorer and had a knack for the ball but really hurt the offensive flow at times.  He just transferred to LaSalle, FYI.

Then at KU on Saturday....tough week but will learn a lot about this team this week.

NRopp!!!!!! Big Night Tonight buddy, I put a 2.5 Unit bet on UNC-Wilmington, they won for me a couple weeks ago. Also took the O 137 in Wyoming/TCU.... And I Like OHIO tonight , got it at +6. Need a big night, love the writeups.... I've won 3 times in a row with Hofstra, but I have taken Towson a few times and hit also, so I may stay away. I'll probably throw a 1 unit bet on Hofstra just because I've been winning w them.

I think those Louisville PPP # are skewed with the schedule they've played, including the two lesser Big East teams. Think they've only gotten 132 possessions and thats Seton Hall and South Florida. But I think it's a safe play. Listed total last year was 155 which would sort of give my stomach an uneasy feeling, but both defenses are better thus far. Recent history showed some extremely low totals. Both teams played 150+ with South Florida somehow. Me, personally, I passed b/c I don't feel we've seen the true Louisville team quite yet. Haven't really played anybody, especially on the road.

I've commented on Pitt playing a more up-tempo style a bit thus far, but man this defense is goooooooooood. Only time these two teams play each other this year unless they meet up in the conference tourney and could be close with the high intensity I expect to be present. Scary thing is, both teams can play slow if they want to.

Thank you for this. I have about ten Nebraska dates circled, so anything you can give me, I appreciate.

Sandwich game for South Carolina which can only help. Just beat Vanderbilt, now go on road against a nobody, then go to Florida. Their offense has been awful on the road, but two of those three games were against Michigan State and Ohio State. Bama brings in a top 10 defense. Sorta like this one myself, nice spot.

Up to you. I'm not really one to play a bad # or suggest others to do so. Still less than a possession move, could be worth it.
