absolute perfect half for the illini -hitting 3's at will -doubt it continues

 

wouldnt suprise me at all to see Penn State run away with this...illini guards cant play battle -he might take this thing over

Joey, PSU was hot on 3's also.  You say they can't defend Battle, I say he can't defend Paul and Richardson.  Battle got off 5 shots all half.  How bad of defense is that really?  McCamey had 8 assists.  PSU just letting Illinois get all kinds of good looks.

It could tighten up though.  I would expect PSU to make a run.

Well Battle only taking 5 shots plays into Penn States case -you know the man will eventually try to take over...

 

and with youngsters like richardson and paul playing him you know the oppurtunity for battle to abuse them is there if he is on.

 

this team is snakebitten as hell -there going break through one of these games

Joey, it's probably not gonna be today though.  Circle Minnesota on Feb. 6.  They'll take that one.  Outside of that though their schedule is hellacious.  I think that's why people thought/think they will win today, because it's hard to find a win for them on the schedule.  Yes, it is possible they could go winless in the B10.  They shoulda beaten up Iowa and Indiana when they had a chance.

depeche, not to rip on you or anything, but I remember a post you had earlier in the year with you saying this team would be better than the amazing team from 05.  What do you think is the reason for the downfall this year??  Paul/Richardson not as good as you thought, or you think next year is the year?

The hell I said that.  I did think they would be better than LAST year, and they are more talented but so far they haven't been better because they are not committed on defense.  What I did say was that they have a chance to get back to the Final Four over the next few years, but not this year obviously.  They have a few good recruits coming in next season, especially Jereme Richardson.  Probably 2-3 years from now will be peak.  Jereme Richardson is the name to watch for next year.  Kid is a stud.  Also have Luther Head's lil bro coming in.

I must have been confused with someone else saying that depeche.  Anyway, IMO pauls been a huge disappointment, although hes only a frosh so can't expect too big of things.  This kid Richardson I like though, he's looked pretty good all year.
