SU winners: 19 OT record: 5-0 Record on the open: 25-18 Winners because of the Open: 3 Losers because of the Open: 1
Notes: -Happy to close out my best month of the year with a W, even if it was fortunate and capped a 2-3 start to the week -Fortunate
to say the least with my Washington +5 play as terrible execution down
the stretch thanks to Lorenzo Romar calling an alley-oop and then having
his 7-footer shoot his 1st 3pt shot of the season down 4 with :20 left.
The real fortune was Senior PG Mark Lyons streaking down the court
alone deciding not to take an easy dunk and instead dribble out the
clock -UW was covering for pretty much the entire game and could have
lost it late due to their dumbass coach, but they were also very
fortunate Arizona could not hit water if they fell out of a boat from
the perimeter despite a bunch of open shots -Providence is the
hometown team and they had a bunch of chances to win at home against
UConn, but the Huskies were great down the stretch and are embracing the
spoiler role. Friars killed them on the boards, but for some reason
they haven't been able to win despite the better roster. I think the
decision to trap out of the zone on Boatright last night was foolish as
it left Napier wide open to bury the 3 they were beaten by -Illinois
is seriously leaking oil after that failure to close out Sparty on the
road despite a double-digit lead in the second 20 minutes. Still really
low on John Groce as his Ohio team was the same just shooting 3s and
playing no defense

-UD played Xavier really tough and furthered my opinion that Kevin Dillard is an absolute menace at the 1. He will be a tough guy to guard for the Billikens even with their triumvirate of small guards. Speaking of those small guards, Vee Sanford is a big advantage here with his size and I think he will play well today. Dayton should be hungry off the loss while it'll be really tough for SLU to follow up their huge effort on Thursday night when they destroyed butler. We have all seen this before, flat effort following a big win, and the nice thing was that it was a day ago and UD played Wednesday so they'll have an extra day of prep.

Huge number but I don't think they can score well enough with Boynton swallowing Henderson up and UF likely scoring 80. You certainly won't see me laying the 18 though...
