I certainly didn't mean it to be a smartass post.  I respect your picks tremendously. 

That being said, I ASSURE you this isn't a homer post.  I have played against Ole Miss 4 of the last 5 games.  This is one the Rebs have been looking forward to.  I talked to Chris and Reggie @ dinner tonight, and they are pumped.  They know how big these next two games are at home against TN and UK.  Win these two, and you get back in the hunt in the West with the schedule getting easier.  Lose, and you're basically done.

Ole Miss really matches up well with TN.  They should have won there last year, and the type of game TN plays will play into Ole Miss' hands.  It isn't Fraham, or Gaskins can take over the game.  The deal is TN has no one to match up on Henry.   Buck will hopefully stay out of foul trouble, because if he does, he will shut the lane down and make TN beat the Rebs from outside.

Again, everything points to the Rebs tomorrow.  They match up well, are ready to plaiy, and it should be a great crowd.

thoughts on Georgia @ Kentucky? 

just judging by the way that kentucky has played as of late, o just dont see them beating georgia by that many points i would honestly take georgia just as long as georgia is + 8 or more

Hmmmmm.... this is the maac confrence ??? anything is possible but in my opinion i think that st peters is playing a lot better at this point of the season, rider is a good defensive team but the homecourt advantage will be the deciding factor.... st peters is a great home team they are 7-1 this year, even knw that rider is a bigger and more of a rebounding threat, i would go with the home dawg old st peters +1

yeah its a maac conference. ive been riding them since covers recommended to play them against siena a few weeks back. 3-0 against the spread and playing some awesome d. plus theyre near the top of the conference standings so id think they play their butts off.

thing is im not real big on parlaying games, i would rather just bet both games staight up at even par cus chances are u will at least get one outta two,and then u just have juice.... so id throw a hudo on each game and take your chances bro..... u gotta play money to win money,,,,

Just curious, do you base your leans etc on the difference between your spread guesses and the actual spreads? I say this because Im shocked that you could think that Temple/Joes game was going to be 4-6...I know we have a Big 5 game here but St. Joes is arguably the worst team outside of Fordham (although you could say that for about 4 other teams), while Temple is a top 2-3 team...I just hope you arent leaning St. Joes because of the difference in your line guess. This game has just about the right spread at 12. Whether or not you like that is a diff story.

Can they play a zone? I'm sure Andy Kennedy is smart enough to realize that they need to do it, but can they?

Kentucky at home is a whole different animal, and they have in-season revenge after dropping the game in Athens. As for the spread, I would lean to Georgia, but they have been puzzling lately. I think they have an advantage inside with Trey Thompkins as I don't really think anyone in blue can guard him if they keep TT and Price on the floor at the same time. Big Blue has an advantage with guard-play, but I can't lay that high number of points with them so it'll be a no-play for me

No opinion on Rider-St. Pete's

Not really, crus, and I'll admit I messed up that St. Joe's line. I made it far too low because I didn't realize it was in the Palestra as those in-Philly matchups make little sense to me. I just can't see Temple laying that amount of points because they are playing awful basketball right now and a rivalry game should be closer than that number. I don't know enough about Martelli's squad to play it, but I leaned that way at the open because the line was so much higher than I expected

You seemed like you might be different than most Horns, but I guess not.  Trust me when I say that Turgeon and his team cares about each game and yes, you guys are ranked higher, so that would be a huge win.  But, he cares more about KU than any team.  Further, do you think guys like Khris Middleton (from South Carolina), Dash Harris (from Los Angeles) and David Loubeau (from Florida) care about any sort of rivalry in a state they didn't know much about before three years ago?  But, I guess the Longhorn arrogance can't help but come out.

Oh well, regardless of that, you are still an excellent capper and I really have much much respect for your analysis.  Heck, you may be right about the size of the Huskers causing us problems.  Good luck with your picks.

That is what we have played predominantly the last two games.  The zone has helped keep Buck out of foul trouble, and to be honest, this team is completely different when he is on the floor.  I honestly think the team could survive without Warren, but not Buck.  There is some depth in the backcourt, but not the frontcourt.  Demarco Cox just isn't ready for the SEC, and Henry is solid, but is more of a slashing wing guy.

I think you will see Gaskins and Nick Williams in Hopson's face all day, and he will get frustrated. 

Again, I think the difference here is two things:  1) TN has no one that can guard Terrence.  2)  If Buck can stay out of foul trouble(and that's a big if), TN will have trouble getting in the lane.  I think the Rebs will do everything they can to get the ball in the paint and get to the line.  If you take away Buck's numbers, this team shoots almost 80% from the line.  He, of course, is about a 40% shooter.

Again, I can't stress to you how much this team has riding on this game.  With early wins against some decent opponents in Penn St. and USM, they need two or three more signature wins to have any chance @ an at large bid, if that chance is even still a possibility.  The week off has given them a full week to prepare, and I think AK will have them ready.

Last time they played in Austin it went under in a slow game, but I'm not sure what's going to happen here.

We generally get out and run because we have trouble scoring in the half-court, but that's certainly improved this year with the addition of Tristan Thompson inside. Our defense and rebounding is stellar, which would make it hard for this one to go over, imo. Mizzou will be shooting a ton of 3pt shots, which isn't a great thing on the road and the Texas fair-weather fans should actually care about this one so it should be a better atmosphere than most games. I would lean to Mizzou because UT hasn't proven anything at the FT line, but over would be more likely to me at this point even though the 'Horns defense could put that in serious danger

If you don't think beating Texas is the #1 goal every year in every sport for TAMU then I really don't know what to say. Your entire fight song is built against UT, and the best efforts of each season comes against UT. That's fine, but you could honestly argue that TAMU would lose the national championship in order to beat their in-state rival who truly worries about other programs more. The new TV deal will make it a ton worse, but it really is all about the annoying little brother in this rivalry. I certainly appreciate the accolades, but i call it as I see it in hoops and in the rivalry
