NOVA -2.5 vs George Mason (2 Unit)- Both teams are off to great starts with George Mason coming off a big victory over an overrated and unproven Kansas State team. Villanova is no K St. team here. Their guard play with Reynolds and new freshman mates will control this game while Mason will try to pound the ball into their leader Will Thomas. Feel like the line is a little low here because of Mason's win last night which wasn't even an upset. Jay Wright will have this wildcat team prepared for battle and the faster tempo may keep Thomas from getting settled.
KANSAS ST. -4 vs UCF (2 Units) I know. I Know. I was just bashing Kansas State but they just mailed that game in last night. Michael Beasley didn't play almost any of the first half due to foul trouble and Bill Walker looked lost out there without his freshman buddy to help take some of the pressure off him. But in the second half when they were both in the game they were looking pretty good for some stretches. Look for Kansas state to bounce back after an embarrassing loss. Beasley will dominate as usual and Walker (who fouled out with 5 mins left after a foul then a T) should settle down. I did say they are overrated but they will definately get back to basics and make sure to clean up the foul problems and bad shot selections. Felt like they were just too young to handle a well coached George Mason team.
All I have for today... Haven't posted yet this year, wanted to get a feel for some of the teams. I was also looking at USC who i thought looked pretty terrible last night against San Diego. OJ Mayo did very little to impress me in the first half, kind of just standing around the NBA three point line all night hoping Gibson would get it done.
Any thoughts about these games?
