I can't tell you how surprised I am at this total dropping. I normally stay away from totals, but as soon as the Penn State/Minnesota O/U dropped down to 126, I immediately placed my largest bet of the college basketball season. Don't let the drop pull you the other way in this contest, these teams have historically been involved in high scoring contests with one another, and this has all the makings for another one tonight.
Both of these teams are fighting to get in the tournament and what better way to showcase why they deserve to get in with a nice finish to the season starting on the center stage on ESPN2.
Looking back at last season, Minnesota beat Penn State three times 75-70, 66-64 and 76-55. This is a much different Penn State team, especially at home. Penn State starts four seniors, and although it's a long shot, they want to be involved in March Madness. Minnesota is far from a gimme to get a bid as well. They only have one quality conference win (vs. Purdue) and they' have lost
four of their last five overall. They' are going to need to finish 9-9 in
conference to go dancing, and if they lose to the Penn State tonight,
they will have to win three of their last four to get there without a doubt. During Minnesota's four-game slide, they gave up 71.5 points per game and only held one opponent to fewer than 70 points (IU). It's not going to be an easy chore shutting down a hungry Taylor Battle tonight regardless of their defensive schemes. Expect the over trend to continue this evening when both of these teams get involved in a shootout from tip to buzzer.
As most of you know, I'm not a big trend guy, but these are some interesting numbers that came up in terms of head to head meetings.
Over is 12-2 in the last 14 meetings.
Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Penn St..
Home team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
Golden Gophers are 2-7 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Penn St.
Look for this total to fall somewhere in between 138-144 this evening.
I like Penn State to win this one in a high scoring effort from both squads.

, i fell for your bait i hope it doesn't bite me in the ass, lets cash this ticket
No worries, I have been looking over this game for quite some time. Once the number dropped down to 126, I had to move in. If you are planning on playing this total, try and get in on it now as I suspect we could see it climb back up closer to tip off. But, like I said, I fully expect it to fall somewhere between 138-144 tonight.

Either way, if you do or don't play this one....best of luck on all your plays regardless of your sides tonight. I hope everyone has a profitable evening. There is a nice slate of games tonight, but this total definitely sticks out as the best play I have seen on the college side all year.

Battle will be fine tonight Thanks everyone, best of luck tonight and enjoy the game if you play it. Everything should go as expected during this game. Which is a lot of scoring.
