Eastern Washington Eagles +7: Really not impressed with California Baptist, who despite being 4-1 are 0-5 ATS despite a leisurely home schedule against some pretty average to meh teams. Eastern is 1-4 but battled hard at Mizzou and didn't roll over against Wazzou at a neutral. They also had a challenging matchup at Colorado to open the season. Think the more battle-tested Eagles hang with Cali here, get the cover and I may just add a sprinkle on the ML +225.
Detroit +24: Think Mercy gets the cover here against another team in Wake that has struggled mightily ATS (1-5). Wake did get a nice 2 point win in a neutral against Michigan but failed their only road test miserably at Xavier. Detroit has 2 semi-decent road wins at Ball State and Niagara and have generally been better than advertised after a horrific 2023-24 season.

Just failing to make the cut was Cal Poly +21. Poly has been a much improved team this season with a tricky road schedule to date, but St. Mary's has a tendency to bludgeon average opponents at home. Not saying I won't ultimately make a play, just that I am not going to recommend it to anyone else.

No problemo with Detroit. Wake just isn't that good IMHO. Will be interesting to see if they can raise their games with the stiffer competition when conference play begins but at this point they look like they could struggle. But we've seen a lot of teams that don't get amped up for these non-conference yawners and coaches are often doing a lot of experimenting too. Regardless, they definitely don't look as explosive on offence this season.
