Duke is the worst #1 seed in the history of this tourney can't hardly beat anyone away from home, barely snuck by Miami an GT in ACC tourney and 5-5 in true road games this year.  they will lose in second round.  Remember how Georgetown blew them out this year.  Fade while you can

They're america fave team and coach so they always bump them up at least an extra seed or poll ranking so they can stand out.

honestly their bracket sets up, if richmond upsets nova in round 2 which i think happens, that duke gets to final 4. If nova wins that round 2 game id take them then. You say overrated and round 2 loss for duke but to who cal or louisville? I mean those teams arent exactly great. Louisville refuses to grab a rebound to save their life. No hustle. Duke gives that

i think louisville or cal could beat them, but louisville probably has better chance because they can play D.  Duke totally different team at home also remember this team lost by 14 to N.C. State on road

I have been making a good deal of money betting against Duke ATS.  I don't see this changing at all during the tourney.

rounders im looking more at cal or louisvilles ability rather than dukes inability. People have to take their hate for duke out of the equation sometimes. Are they overrated at times? Sure. However this is their best team probably in 7 or 8 years. Louisville has shown no inconsistancy. Edgar sosa is a scumbag. He will drop 25 pts combined with 25 turnovers. Shut down cal 3 pt shooting and duke is good. Devils should walk to the sweet 16 and depending on what upsets likely come out of the texam/utahst/purdue/siena bracket they may go farther

betting ats may be a different story but i think we are just talking about filling out brackets here.

not a duke hater by any means

they do have easy bracket and if things line up for them they could go far, but have seen enough this season Duke unbeatable at home and very average on road/neutral site

Can't believe committee put them ahead of syracuse as third #1 seed WTF have they been watching all year tourney isn't being held at cameron indoor stadium.  on neutral site i would lay up to 10 points with syracuse against duke. remember when they played gtown this year absolute blowout.

not a duke hater by any means

they do have easy bracket and if things line up for them they could go far, but have seen enough this season Duke unbeatable at home and very average on road/neutral site

Can't believe committee put them ahead of syracuse as third #1 seed WTF have they been watching all year tourney isn't being held at cameron indoor stadium.  on neutral site i would lay up to 10 points with syracuse against duke. remember when they played gtown this year absolute blowout.

Big cuse fan here and it first i was upset about duke and syracuse being switched however duke did win the acc tourney and cuse lost their last 2 games including the injury. They still made cuse a top seed but those differences made them switch the 2. I understood the reasoning i guess there. Syracuse has a region that they should come out of in my opinion but i honestly expect duke to at least go to elite 8 if not farther.

    I don't understand this argument.

Duke played maybe the top 4 toughest road games of any team this year. They lost each one but how many teams are going to have even 1 win @ this group who had 8  total home losses all season. Wisconsin(1), Gtown(4), Maryland(1), and Georgia Tech(2).

On top of that look at Duke's average points scored in their 5 losses. They only failed to score 70 points once against 4 good defenses. That is huge and should be the elephant in the room where Duke is considered overrated.

They are going to score against all opponents. They have to be able to get some stops and they don't have a tough game in their bracket if you ask me. 4 of their 5 losses came against big guys who can score. Tracy Smith, Jon Leur, Greg Monroe, and Favors/Lawal. They don't run into one of those anywhere in their bracket except for against Utah St. if they can make it. And that guy plays for Utah St.

Any team Virginia can play with isn't winning any national title. One common thread over the past half-decade or so is that Duke looks like a very tired team by the 10-minute mark of the second half of their second-round game.  I think the University of Long-Island at Durham needs someone to take out Baylor or Nova, either of whom will grind them down.  They will need to play very well to get by Louisville, of the Cards get by Cal.  Cal is the sort of team Duke eats up.

Cuse native and fan here and I agree with all this except for the last part. 1st: Syr may not make it past the 2nd round
    2nd: neither will duke

What makes you think fla st or gonzaga would be syracuse? Especially in buffalo. ... Did you see louisville play against cincy last week? Horrible. Duke has a bye to the sweet 16

Osirus really coming out to defend the Pukies.

They will be lucky not to face Ville (which I think happens)

They won't have to face Nova, but they will get caught up on 1 team from the BXII- TexAM or Baylor.

If anyone didn't know, Osirus also bases Ville WHOLE YR on that Cincy game. The 2 games they beat Cuse were just "luck" for closing of a building and Cuse had a bad game @ H.

yeah L'ville blew their load at freedom hall beating Syr.
But I still think their a good team.
I dunno, its more of a fade , plus with AO being out not good for the Orange. Ive seen this too many times in my life, Cuse losing to teams they should beat. 05 to vermont, 06 to TAM both 1st round.
    04 to bama,
Hope it doesnt happen of course but if Zags or FSU get hot shooting the 3 , JB never comes out of the zone and we're 1 guy less now with AO out, could be trouble.

Ville blown out by stjohns, home losses to western carolina and charlotte so there were other bad performances.  Duke plays much harder than louisville
